KUALA LUMPUR: Honda Malaysia announced today a precautionary recall involving 87,490 vehicles to replace the fuel pump as a preventive measure.

In a statement, Honda Malaysia said the fuel pump’s impeller may swell after prolonged exposure to fuel, which could potentially prevent the vehicle from starting or cause the engine to stall while driving.

Honda has recalled approximately 720,000 vehicles in the U.S. due to a potential issue with the high-pressure fuel pump, which could crack and cause fuel leaks, increasing the risk of fire. This recall includes models like the 2023-2025 Civic, Accord, and CR-V. Additionally, there have been reported incidents of car fires involving Honda vehicles, including a multi-car fire involving N-Van models and a Honda City catching fire on a bridge according to reports.

Mainly kena last time is shell petrol user
Some say cause shell petrol a lot more alcohol

Mine is 2017 civik uses caltex then later change to bhp
Never have problem
A fam have jazz 2018, uses shell and exactly the issue happened

Majority issue is the pump issue expanding after exposed to low grade petrol like shell
Petrol pump is at the petrol tank place
Which is at the rear
Most of the time below the rear seats
Not the front
Last time 2018 to 2019 is rife with Honda car have fuel starvation issue

Those that uses Singapore like caltex or bhp no have issue

Recall mean, there is manufacturing defects for all the affected batch as they have more than 1 car with problems

Of course, for China EV haters, one case of breakdown represents all cars also problem

I tot tukar new cvt belt only 4k? Price goes up ald?
I saw the cvt belt sold for 1.5k on shopee.

Normally SC will jus change whole unit when faulty

Overhull is around 4.5 to 6k.
Don't go for refurbish... Why are you giving away your original one for another that you don't know the condition?
Recon.. also same cannot use
New... Expensive
