From honda SC technician mentioned if CMBS activated with auto brakes applied, we need to brakes to cater the sensing thereafter it will give back the control to you
CMBS auto turn on every time after restarting car
Cancel CMBS by fully depressing the accelerator pedal
please update us if you get any reply from honda. ensure that you can claim for the damages and help the back car claim insurance as well. because it is not your fault or the back car faults because you suddenly stop on a fast lane.
My car pun kena before. It just suddenly did a hard braking when there was no car in front of me lol.

myvi ASA also 100% camera what.. ok only never heard of such problem on myvi before..
sensitivity
that guy honda might set to highest or high
my benz sometime also will random prompt when there are sudden environment change (like from sunny day go into underground parking) or like this kind of bridge shadow
it will auto open all sensor , rear view camera and start beep beep beep
not sure how benz front collision work..sometime it will auto disable entire parktronic system for like 5 to 10min (maybe mismatch result in between camera vs radar kot)

Even with the highest sensitivity set, it should not brake as per video
Those camera based sensor is shit only radar is more reliable. The moment Tesla shift from radar to vision, it's auto drive system has gone shit. Even their own engineer spoke up against it.

merc could have different system, like my audi it have camera + radar, so even the camera cannot detect due to strong light, the radar will still function
this is why i kept on saying don't rely on these electronic safety system
it will backfire more often than u think
well, for some cars even if you turn it off, it will automatically turn on after you restart the car. it wont stay off. so you need to off it everytime you drive. surely sometimes you forgot or fedup and never bother to turn it off

on or off if the driver really buy that car just so he can rely on that system

well, all i can say is really good luck
the problem is the buyer for the car in this incident never bought the car for that system, he mentioned that he never use adaptive cruise control even once. he prefers to drive it himself. he also tried a few times to turn off the CMBS but it continues to turn on after you restart the car, so he simply didnt do it anymore.
must be fed-up if you have to manually remember to turn off the CMBS each time you start your car.
what makes it worst is that he actually is alert , and did continue to press the accelerator but the car seems cut off and does not respond to his action.

This is the craziest shit I ever heard. A capable and fit driver losing complete control of his vehicle. If in America siap class action in kambing.

Apparently it is the sudden dark triggers it, the camera suddenly sense how it becomes so dark and get scared then break forcefully, Honda needs to train the car to not scare of the dark
CHR 2017 pre crash braking does not really kick in but it just gives you a warning. 99.9% of the time it's quite accurate. but once I got a warning to brake immediately when it's empty ahead. it soon went away though. not sure if the brake will really kick in or not. haven't tried.

If it is US, Honda already issued recall over night and get ready for the hefty fine. But Malaysian life is cheap, must wait till fatal accident then only they will take action
sounds like cross is less likely to encounter phantom braking? Cross adopts radar + cam for its pre-collision system.
"Pre-collision System is Toyota’s speak for Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB). It utilizes a camera as well as a millimeter-wave radar to detect possible collisions and slow the car down to avoid or reduce the impact. With Pedestrian Detection, the system is able to determine possible collision with crossing pedestrians as well as cyclists, and automatically apply the brakes if the driver does not brake in set time"

just the other day i said on another thread. car safety is less to do with all these detection system, rather actually a car which is well built & tuned hav good grip & giv driver good control of the vehicle.
this is y something i really hate buying premium spec when it comes wit these warning/detection features.
i personally don't like all these fancy features; yes it is a safety perk for the driver but sometimes when it doesn't work properly, you get screwed over.
