Political appointment is common everywhere. I once think Minister should come from the same industry background

But later I ask many experts in the industry, the say no need. They say those at the top just need to be responsible for policy making - they can appoint experts to advise. The ground work is still left to experts

Malaysia, democracy with ministers elected by Prime Minister and must be a MP or senator. With only 150 MPs to choose from, and PMX must respect party quotas and seniority, I dont think qualification is a number 1 priority.

In China Jinping can pick whomever he wants to be a secratary.
