Penang food?? hahaha.... more than 90% are lousy. dont waste time with penang food. They are so bad that the had to create a silly CKT contest to give publicity to their horrible food.

These days , rental for a stall at a kopitiam is very expensive.
A hawker in bandar mahkota cheras told me that her rental is RM2k a month for her stall incl dish washing.

Not easy to do such business. Public holidays you no rest, have to work even harder because there will be more ppl coming to eat.
Fried kuey teow stall even worse, the heat from those kind of industrial stove is no joke. Toss wok until your arm break.

these are the right answers. it's never about the money.

All fnb and in fact any consumer business work hardest on weekends and public holidays opposite from makan gaji ppl. A lot of fnb shops close on Monday as a rest day.

Luckily still got many hidden ones. Even cecil market my favourite one is less popular than the ciak ka ckt.

Been there few times and tried myself all sorts of food that people say so good. I am not impressed at all with the taste and find it very awful.

So many people still dont wanna believe. Penang food is HORRIBLE!! it is not 'boleh makan'.... but downright horrible food. What do kiasu Penang people do when we tell this to them? They fav line : 'Ceh... you dont know where to go... thats why!!'. Then they will bring you to a FEW stalls that are edible and proudly boast to you: 'Nah... stop saying penang food is horrible!' Key words: A FEW STALLS remaining! LOL

Other than these few remaining stalls... 99% of penang food is HORRIBLE! the only people who will mati2 say Penang food is sedap are the penang sohais.

It’s actually very easy to cook ckt. Just make sure you got extra big fire. Cooked two versions, one with lap cheong & prawns. Another just siham. Prefers the siham one. [attachmentid=11514286]

Lol what a joke Penang is really getting touristy and desperate . Like do you need to have a competition to show who's the best? The "best" won't even bother about competition when they are so busy with their own business. These are all for publicity and wayang only to fool tourists.
