After checking with several authorized reseller, seems Urban Republic offered highest trade in so far. For my 16 pro 256gb RM 3110 plus additional RM 300 for any purchase of iPhone 17 series. Last year bought and trade in from them too, managed to get RM 3705 for my 15 pro 256gb.

Btw anybody had experience canceling applecare + before expired date? My current plan covered untill 22/9/2026, can i get pro rated refund?

yeah but apple or machine only allow trade-in by purchasing the new device whereas I just wanted to trade-in for cash

Owh , mean that user can't backup their phone before get the new iphone , so macam mana also need to get new iphone , active with Apple ID , only the old phone can be done backup , mean that have to be at Switch , waiting the old phone completely backup only can pass for the trade-in. or unless u bought the iphone in apple store (online or app) using ur apple id, like that they will also know that u bought new iphone and give u the extra storage to backup earlier. else if u buy from switch, i dun think there is a way that apple will know that u buy a new iphone earlier to give u the storage.

but my suggestion is still to do wireless transfer which is faster.
becos even they give u the extra storage, ur old iphone will still need to push to icloud (which takes time), while later again need to download to ur new iphone.

i think as some bro mentioned their experience for apple store iphone purchase, they are not required to surrender their old phone on the day of getting the new phone, but later.

Last year I did the same, but I already sub 200gb iCloud. What I did was backup to iCloud and Mac before go to UR (Switch) then format the phone after finished trade in. Later u can restore at home (much better coz internet speed) or at switch. Got another option transfer by wired old iPhone to new iPhone, but I not sure how to do this.

Went to DirectD and I felt I got shortchanged on my trade-in. But no choice already they present the phone and accessories all out then suddenly quote me a really low trade in value for my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Perfect condition, no scratches, never repaired etc.

Remobie trade in value online : RM 1530 (Including Overtrade)

DirectD trade in value : RM 1100 (Including Overtrade)

DirectD said value dropped because no phone box and battery health was at 78%

Really regret, should have just gone to Apple Store in TRX and pick up there instead.

Oh well, lesson learnt. At least I have my 17 Pro I guess
