Please give review once received and fitted on your iPhone. I want to know if the lip is tall enough to prevent screen protectors from touching surfaces when phone is laid face down. Also want to know about the the camera control button feedback quality. Thanks in advance.

The moment I saw the videos by the launch attendees showcasing the blue in the matching techwoven case, I knew that was the model I would want. My only concern with blue (and orange) is the anodised paint chipping off like on the MacBook Air. Silver is still probably the easiest model to pair with cases though.

The top and bottom were closer to black, but the middle was quite similar to the matte glass section of the 17 Pro.

I wonder if Apple not planning to release that new smart 40-60W adapter they just announced in UK plug format. I checked Apple UK store also don’t have.

If both the iPhone and case delivery van/rider appear at the same time outside your house, you better take down their plate numbers and rush to toto shop.

My colleague came in today with his new deep blue 17 Pro and matching blue Techwoven. Looked really slick. My only issue with Apple cases this year are the lanyard holes at the bottom. Aside from being useless for those of us not planning to handbag our phones, cases having holes near the edges have a habit of letting dust work in and settle around the gap/pocket between phone corner and case corner. If a small particle of sand enters and just sits inside for months, it will slowly grind away your phone’s aluminium. How do I know? Because it was my experience with a lanyard case for my iPhone X. After few months of use I removed the case and saw the steel on bottom right corner scratched.

It’s not even listed in the apple.com/MY store also. I think it’s not available in UK plug type (yet), since SG and even UK stores are not showing it.

Many years ago (iPhone 6 and 7 days) Machines used to carry this Japanese case brand called Gramas. Some of their cases also had this hard luggage kind of look. Also very pricey, but probably not as high as this Rimowa. Not having Magsafe at this price is disappointing though.

In my experience, this is typical local reseller SoP. They will find all sorts of funky reasons to lowball you in person. Switch and Machines also same. This is why I only deal with Apple after they started offering trade-ins here.

This was my biggest fear for the Blue when it was announced, because of past reports about the dark coloured MacBook Airs that used the same anodised aluminium finish. Sigh, maybe silver is the safest bet. It’s the most boring but neutral finishes will be easy to pair different case colours, so it will be easy to cover up that ugly toilet bowl ceramic glass part on the back.

How’s your experience been with CompAsia? I have a 13 Mini sitting in a drawer. Pristine condition, but the box and cable long gone already. Do they start knocking down price compared to the website quote?

If you look at Machines trade-in pricelist for past iPhones, you will see both regular and e-sim versions listed. I assume e-sims are for overseas sets? Interestingly, regular physical sim models have higher trade-in value.

Sorry, no idea. If it’s just the glass and it looks identical to the original (and installer workmanship is good), I don’t think they (Machines or Switch staff) will be able to tell when they perform a diagnosis, since there’s no software involved for “authenticating” the back glass like with internal components or front screen, but I can’t guarantee. If you’re honest and tell them beforehand, confirm will lowball you like second hand car dealer.

Question;
Can any magsafe case support the new 25W wireless charging standard or do they need to specifically have some sort of Qi2.2 label? Not a fan of the handbag loop holes at the bottom of Apple’s own cases, so I’m looking at third party ones.

God tier phone. 10yrs old and still received 15.8.5 security update last week My mum still keeps hers as a secondary phone (no sim inside, but the Whatsapp for her old number still works). Hers is nice Product Red colour. Replaced the battery around 4yrs ago. Everything still functioning.

Typical Switch (and Machines) SOP is to knock down a bit when you bring it to them, but usually not until -RM600. Are you sure the RM2075 value was not for a higher storage model? Honestly, since Apple officially started doing trade-ins in Malaysia, I see no reason to trade in with resellers anymore. They always lowball you. The staff probably trained by second hand car dealers.

Super thin so don’t expect any drop protection, but keeps the form factor slim. Sorry I forgot to take a photo. Just sharing for you guys/gals who want to cover the camera plateau area.

Apple cases have never been the best for protection. The MobileReviewsEh guy also said the TechWoven cases are good but offer almost no front protection during a fall. Also, the TechWoven cases have a flaw highlighted by another Youtuber (sorry, I cannot remember which video) where if you twist the case with the phone inside, one of the bottom corners of the phone will pop out of the case. That’s not a good sign when it come to drops, because there’s a high possibility of phone separating from the case upon impact. If you want protection it’s better to get one of the third-party airbag/cushion drop tested cases.
