QUOTE(vin39 @ Sep 15 2025, 08:45 PM) After watching ESR’s video regarding their case (they used a blue ip17pm), I am kinda regretting my choice for orange. Should have gone for blue instead. Aiyaaaa. The moment I saw the videos by the launch attendees showcasing the blue in the matching techwoven case, I knew that was the model I would want. My only concern with blue (and orange) is the anodised paint chipping off like on the MacBook Air. Silver is still probably the easiest model to pair with cases though. |

QUOTE(vin39 @ Sep 15 2025, 09:35 PM) They had a blue in 5s? I only remember the black, gold and silver. Ah the good old days. When only one model existed and before that only 2 colors lol. I believe it was the 5, not 5s.Source: I had the 5. The top and bottom were closer to black, but the middle was quite similar to the matte glass section of the 17 Pro. 5 on left, 5s on right. ![]() |

I wonder if Apple not planning to release that new smart 40-60W adapter they just announced in UK plug format. I checked Apple UK store also don’t have.

QUOTE(dreamthief @ Sep 19 2025, 06:14 PM) My colleague came in today with his new deep blue 17 Pro and matching blue Techwoven. Looked really slick. My only issue with Apple cases this year are the lanyard holes at the bottom. Aside from being useless for those of us not planning to handbag our phones, cases having holes near the edges have a habit of letting dust work in and settle around the gap/pocket between phone corner and case corner. If a small particle of sand enters and just sits inside for months, it will slowly grind away your phone’s aluminium. How do I know? Because it was my experience with a lanyard case for my iPhone X. After few months of use I removed the case and saw the steel on bottom right corner scratched.This post has been edited by dev/numb: Sep 19 2025, 06:35 PM |

I think it’s not available in UK plug type (yet), since SG and even UK stores are not showing it.QUOTE(Syok Your Mom @ Sep 19 2025, 08:42 PM) Unibody construction.This post has been edited by dev/numb: Sep 19 2025, 08:50 PM |

QUOTE(furuku89 @ Sep 19 2025, 09:54 PM) Many years ago (iPhone 6 and 7 days) Machines used to carry this Japanese case brand called Gramas. Some of their cases also had this hard luggage kind of look. Also very pricey, but probably not as high as this Rimowa. Not having Magsafe at this price is disappointing though.QUOTE(washeddev @ Sep 19 2025, 11:02 PM) Went to DirectD and I felt I got shortchanged on my trade-in. But no choice already they present the phone and accessories all out then suddenly quote me a really low trade in value for my iPhone 13 Pro Max. Perfect condition, no scratches, never repaired etc. In my experience, this is typical local reseller SoP. They will find all sorts of funky reasons to lowball you in person. Switch and Machines also same. This is why I only deal with Apple after they started offering trade-ins here.Remobie trade in value online : RM 1530 (Including Overtrade) DirectD trade in value : RM 1100 (Including Overtrade) DirectD said value dropped because no phone box and battery health was at 78% Really regret, should have just gone to Apple Store in TRX and pick up there instead. Oh well, lesson learnt. At least I have my 17 Pro I guess |

QUOTE(dreamthief @ Sep 20 2025, 06:51 AM) This was my biggest fear for the Blue when it was announced, because of past reports about the dark coloured MacBook Airs that used the same anodised aluminium finish. Sigh, maybe silver is the safest bet. It’s the most boring but neutral finishes will be easy to pair different case colours, so it will be easy to cover up that ugly toilet bowl ceramic glass part on the back. |

QUOTE(GamersFamilia @ Sep 20 2025, 04:52 PM) If you look at Machines trade-in pricelist for past iPhones, you will see both regular and e-sim versions listed. I assume e-sims are for overseas sets? Interestingly, regular physical sim models have higher trade-in value. |

QUOTE(jackdon @ Sep 20 2025, 08:20 PM) Question: Will my iPhone 13 Pro Max 1TB be accepted for trade-in when I have my back glass replaced with a third-party replacement? Sorry, no idea. If it’s just the glass and it looks identical to the original (and installer workmanship is good), I don’t think they (Machines or Switch staff) will be able to tell when they perform a diagnosis, since there’s no software involved for “authenticating” the back glass like with internal components or front screen, but I can’t guarantee. If you’re honest and tell them beforehand, confirm will lowball you like second hand car dealer.If yes then I may be keen on upgrading with the trade in. My iPhone 13 PM is working no issue now. Thanks. This post has been edited by dev/numb: Sep 20 2025, 10:05 PM |

Question;
Can any magsafe case support the new 25W wireless charging standard or do they need to specifically have some sort of Qi2.2 label? Not a fan of the handbag loop holes at the bottom of Apple’s own cases, so I’m looking at third party ones. This post has been edited by dev/numb: Sep 22 2025, 08:40 PM |

QUOTE(INGfusion @ Sep 22 2025, 08:44 PM) Available on Shopee.https://www.macworld.com/article/2915110/ug...f-the-pack.html QUOTE(dreamthief @ Sep 22 2025, 08:52 PM) It’s not MagSafe case that supports the charging. It’s iPhone itself just to clarify. Thanks. Good to know. She likes her current Elago silicone case and the magnets are quite strong, so I might go with the same brand again.So long your charger supports Qi2.2 and 25W wireless charging, it’s fine. The case you need strong magnets placement like MagSafe to utilize. Think of this way, without a proper MagSafe case (meaning the magnet alignment), the case would be too thick to reach the iPhone wireless coils when you place the wireless charger. https://www.macrumors.com/2025/09/09/iphone...5w-qi-charging/ This post has been edited by dev/numb: Sep 22 2025, 09:06 PM |

QUOTE(direct707 @ Sep 25 2025, 05:58 PM) Did apple change the price? Or no? Typical Switch (and Machines) SOP is to knock down a bit when you bring it to them, but usually not until -RM600. Are you sure the RM2075 value was not for a higher storage model? Honestly, since Apple officially started doing trade-ins in Malaysia, I see no reason to trade in with resellers anymore. They always lowball you. The staff probably trained by second hand car dealers.I tried with Switch/Remobie or something, Online price is RM2075 but when go there, they inspect and offered me RM1400. This actually including the over trade promise. 😅😅😅. I cancel the deal. My phone has a little of scratches mark at charging port. I dont think drop RM600 + the over trade value. 🤭🤭 |

Saw an acquaintance using the frosted version of this case on his blue 17PM. Looked really slick.
https://www.bare-cases.com/products/bare-na...=51840680526131 Super thin so don’t expect any drop protection, but keeps the form factor slim. Sorry I forgot to take a photo. Just sharing for you guys/gals who want to cover the camera plateau area. This post has been edited by dev/numb: Sep 25 2025, 06:32 PM |

QUOTE(arshad @ Sep 26 2025, 09:31 AM) Apple cases have never been the best for protection. The MobileReviewsEh guy also said the TechWoven cases are good but offer almost no front protection during a fall. Also, the TechWoven cases have a flaw highlighted by another Youtuber (sorry, I cannot remember which video) where if you twist the case with the phone inside, one of the bottom corners of the phone will pop out of the case. That’s not a good sign when it come to drops, because there’s a high possibility of phone separating from the case upon impact. If you want protection it’s better to get one of the third-party airbag/cushion drop tested cases.This post has been edited by dev/numb: Sep 26 2025, 01:19 PM |
