The new South Terminal at Suvarnabhumi Airport has officially been revealed, and it’s set to be one of the most impressive airport terminals in the world. With a massive footprint of 1,000,000 square metres, it will become the second largest terminal on the planet under a single roof.

Designed to handle up to 70 million passengers each year, the terminal will include 81 aircraft contact gates, helping to streamline the boarding process and ease congestion. It’s a major step forward in enhancing Thailand’s role as a global travel hub.

Construction is scheduled to begin in February 2027 and finish by May 2031. It may be a few years away, but the future of air travel in Bangkok is already looking brighter.


KLIA will get gangbang by Changi and BKK

does it matter? people still need to fly somewhere.

We must be humble ok? Don't get into heavy national debts and a true country that is honest gets the tourist vote of approval.

What we need more now is better airport management to maintain KLIA more than anything else.

You can see older airports around the world such as Haneda and Hamad still taking top awards every year.

Klia was never a threat to Bangkok airport

Bangkok airport got more connectivity to
International routes and at times offering cheaper alternative

Thailand tourism not doing well but decide spend mega money on mega project hmmmm

Airport is often a miniature of the country economic model. Klia was built to be 2nd or 3rd tier airport.

Thai tourism is anytime better than syok sendiri.

Who care?
My priority more to connectivity instead of big airport.

Thailand got Thai AirAsia and Vietjet Thai, but there are based at DMK.

Tourism is Thailand sources of income. Should be good for them.

KLIA2 took me almost half an hour last time walking from plane gate to the ehailing pickup point. which dumbfak designed it.
