Enforcement is where the issues are at.

GDL holders need a medical check every year in order to renew licenses. Doesn't stop all the recent heavy vehicle accidents. Licensing isn't the issue, it's enforcement.

You cant blanket and burden ALL older folks because some get into accidents. Where are the stats to justify that?

Exactly. If you've live that long, god forbid you haven't acquired some common sense.

My dad is 75. Drives perfectly fine. He just doesn't have the attention and stamina to drive 2-3 HR stints...so he takes more frequent breaks or just take the train for cheap.

It's the younger drivers, motorcyclist and heavy commercial vehicles that get into trouble more than anything.

Old folks are driving much less. Less of them on the roads. So less accidents. Your suggestion burdens ALL senior drivers to prevent the small percentage of accidents. Priorities does not match the intended purpose.
