Hi. Because I kena summoned RM300 last year for parking in an OKU car park lot, as I was in a hurry to visit the car insurance company. (Managed to get a 50% discount lah.)
So I decided to apply for an OKU card for my 82 years old old old old mother lah. Then they gave me one OKU sticker for my car in February this year lah.
But still I got summoned RM10 for not paying car park fees on the Flexi Parking app, not once, but twice in the last two months. Even though I managed to get the two summons cancelled by the ladies manning the counter at the Majlis Bandaraya, I'm now wondering this:
Could it be better if I got a car number plate with the OKU sign?? I know there is this Galaxy Gift shop in both Sunway Pyramid and 1 Utama where they can buat such car number plates.
But I am wondering if police might catch me and say "Hello!! It's not JPJ approved car number plates!" But if THAT is against the law, why do they allow the shop to make that kinda car number plates for motorists?? It's not cheap, RM120 for one piece.

Also, I found this on Google: https://www.wapcar.my/news/government-to-in...-stickers-21670The report was in December 2020. Wondering what is the government's action on this topic?? Has it been hijacked or derailed by the Covid 19 pandemic or whatever is going on with this idea?? Or maybe they're confused? How to differentiate between OKU drivers or OKU passengers? From my POV, just need to add the word "driver" if it's OKU driver lah. If no "driver" word is seen, then the law enforcement officers can assume they are OKU passenger(s).

QUOTE(gokundrz @ May 28 2025, 11:34 AM) Get register at jpj, nationwide can use, register at majlis perbandaran, only that district can use I see. You mean there's at least two categories of OKU certifications?? Where's this JPJ office I should go?? Thanks for your sharing, yeah? BTW both summons I got and finally got them cancelled were both in the district I am staying, not another part of West Malaysia.

So much antagonisms from /ktards on OKU topic?? I wonder why.
You think it's so easy to take care of an OKU old lady??
I have a wheelchair which I have to haul in and out of the car boot whenever she needs to use it. And BTW it was also not easy to get a doctor to sign on the medical certificate to ascertain that she's indeed REAAALLY OKU already, OK.
She had injured her spine multiple times which makes it impossible for her to walk for long distances lah.

TS is the vehicle registered under your mother or are you registered with JKM?
If yes, then ignore the retards. If not......
In Malaysia, guardians of an OKU (Orang Kurang Upaya or Persons with Disabilities) cardholder are allowed to use the OKU card on their vehicle, under certain conditions. The vehicle must be registered in the name of the OKU cardholder or their next-of-kin/guardian, and the guardian must be registered with the Department of Social Welfare (JKM).

Yes, I have my mom registered with the Welfare Department for her OKU status already. And I am her guardian aka next of kin.

If your registered then all is good. Why retards here think all OKU are the same and no need guardians are beyond comprehension. And god bless you, taking care of OKU is very, very stressful. And god bless you, taking care of OKU is very, very stressful. As soon as I received my Perodua Axia X? I had already thought of getting the OKU sticker for her, but then I thought I could just go to the stationery shop and gotten a blue OKU wheelchair sign and I thought that should be sufficient. Partly because I didn't want to burden the government too much lah. Mana tau? Last year I got summoned for parking in a OKU car park lot. So that helped me make up my mind: I have to get the Majlis Bandaraya OKU sticker. And so I managed to get that in February this year. This post has been edited by Adelyyne: May 28 2025, 12:15 PM

When I received that RM300 car park summon for parking in the OKU car park lot last year??
I even visited the police to ask them on the laws of parking in OKU car park lots. Because I know that in ICity indoors car park, the OKU car park lots come together with the sign "Only OKU drivers can park here. Otherwise you must pay RM100 if we clamped the wheels of your car." I asked them: are OKU car park lots meant for OKU drivers only or what?
The police officers were REAAALLY nice and told me that because my mom wasn't together with me at that point in time (I was visiting the car insurance company at that time by myself), I have to pay the summons lah. Only good thing was that I received a 50% discount because that was my first offence.
