QUOTE
“Data from the Household Expenditure Survey 2022 shows that Malaysian households spent about 48% of their total monthly food expenditure on food away from home, with 52% spent on food at home.

“In comparison, Singaporean households spent 68% of their food expenditure on food away from home.”

“This is why the consumer expenditures spent on food at home for Singapore is lower than that of Malaysia, and it does not imply that food in Malaysia is more expensive,” she said.
LOL.

As said many times, agriculture production in this country is inefficient, expensive (e.g minimum wages) and lack of scale.

BS la...
Many ppl wouldn't want to do farming <- hard work. Better lagi, we use the fund to invest in condo and let the cow stay there.
'Cheap' chicken wings and meat available at your nearest supermarket if u know where to go.
I got a customer, every week ada masuk chicken illegally. No a single fxck was given by kastam. Kastam might have operation every feel month just for show. But then, every Sunday, 'we' go pray in Church, so everyone is good people.
Also, banyak 'cheap' veg imported from CCP and Mini CCP (aka Vietnam), don't be shy. Coz cheap.

Minimum wages? year 2025 only get paid 1.7k per month considered expensive?
More like MY (gov and mostly the people) buat bodoh, tak mahu upgrade and use technologies. Prefer buy cheap veg from CCP.

Meanwhile, palm oil 'tycoon' untung banyak. On the surface, singing "sustainable palm oil", but behind the scene, no a single fxck is given icon_idea.gif

Some 'ultra rich' even 'build' or 'donate' to church. icon_idea.gif (i mean have their 'own' church) whistling.gif

5 tahun lepas, rm400 boleh beli barang basah + barang kering + susu anak.
Today, rm400 beli barang basah + sedikit barang kering.
Total daily spend for food (eating outside): at least nearly rm100 for 2 person + 1 kid.
Mind you, we always order air kosong.

Maybe can dig into it more....but I would say figures are in bal park.

Honestly, I spend roughly RM800 per month on groceries and sundries including non-edibles like washing detergents (lump together cause i buy from same place). I feed 2 humans and 2 dogs.

RM9.6k per year roughly, in line with the study's US$1,940 figure for Malaysia is equivalent to RM8,848.

Meaning you are the average. Taking into account the B40 group, the T20 has spend much much more to bring up average laugh.gif
