10% 'regret rate' only in first and second tier cities

tapi mckinsey ni topkek 10% + 54% divide by 2 equals 32% then dapat the headline more than 30% regret owai

but in reality more ppl buy in the tier 1 tier 2 cities
same like here la u live in klang valley unlikely to face any issues with charging

betul CONsultant ni

So you need to live in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities to be happy EV owners? Only 30% of China's population live in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities. Literally need to be T30 to be happy EV owners.

Old EV models + Old public chargers + Very ulu area problems.

Megawatt EV models and megawatt chargers have started to appear. ICE manufacturers that still want to waste energy finding fault with EVs and not concentrating more on EV have to prepare to bungkus.

Tier 1&2 face extremely heavy taxes and restrictions on ice vehicle ownership as gargamel_gibson has pointed out before

I also hope we have restrictions on ICE in our cities. Who likes to see smog and breathe in dirty air all the time like in Indian cities.

Nothing to do with whatever country. It's about no restriction on ICE in very large cities, Indian cities are good examples.

Fortunately our cities are still not very big. But if Klang Valley (population 8.8 million) grows to the size of Bangkok Metropolitan Area (population 17 million), then we will also suck in very bad air for six months every year like the Bangkokians.

Donno man. I never trust all these consultants. Boston la mackensy la. Basically what they do is go to company A say they need to improve by practicing what company B doing. Then go to company B and tell them to follow company A.

China got too many EV companies producing good n lousy EV. Once the industry consolidates n with the fast EV innovation, satisfaction would increase. China is already very advanced in both EV & solar n r leading the world, it is matter of time many legacy carmakers would collapse cos it is already too late to play catchup.

Depends on charging station mindset already failed. Charging time is too long, and the available slots is too few. If want to own an EV then prepare to charge at home as the primary mean to replenish its juice. If cannot charge at home then just don't buy EV to avoid all the headache.

this is reason why i selected HEV car instead of EV. 1 full tank easily can get 900km - 1000km++. based on current used on HEV, i've pumped about total RM 200 and total milage got is 2,300++km.

The irony is that China cities have horrible air quality. Check this live reading https://www.iqair.com/world-air-quality-ranking, top 3 worst polluted right now, 2 out of 3 is in China.

Artificial economy to boost EV. There's just so much subsidies involved too, BYD took billions last year alone. Almost every industry in China is so heavily subsidized, their local MRT for example got 100 billion yuan in subsidies in 2024 alone. As an investor really don't know who will implode first, US under trump or the sky high debt of pretty much every industry piling in China. Housing industry, few hundred billion USD debt. HSR company, 1 trillion USD debt. Scary man.

Malaysia effective sun hours for PV is only 3.5hrs and no way we can change this. This is due to our country geographic location.

Fyi, .......

https://auto.sina.cn/info/cx/2024-12-17/det...s8914911.d.html - Google Translated: It has enough space, great handling, and can be as cheap as 41,500 yuan. Wouldn’t you like a Toyota Corolla like this? - 17 Dec 2024 = 35% off MSRP or 35% discount.

Even Nissan Sylphy is 33% off MSRP and Honda Civic is 21% off MSRP in CCP China. Why new ICE-V cars all lelong sale.? ...

= because in the 7 Tier-1 cities like Shanghai, buyers of new ICE-V cars have to pay about RMB100k for the license plate fee and wait >6 months for registration. ... In Tier-3 cities, it's about RMB30k and >2 months, respectively.
....... Buyers of new NEV cars are exempted.

On top of that, nearly all used ICE-V cars have to be scrapped bc CCP China just introduced more stringent annual  car inspection (macam by Puspakom/JPJ) for 6 yo or older cars in Jan 2024(.?), in order to purposely fail them or scrap them, eg any failure detection via OBD, eg sensor failure = fail inspection.
....... Used ICE-V cars <6 yo = car inspection every 2 years.

If you are man in China, you dare to buy the above discounted new ICE-V cars.
