QUOTE(COOLPINK @ May 25 2025, 08:25 PM) That part is supposed to be cast single piece. And it is mounted to some bush and allows pivot moving up and down. It looks like the metal broke at the pivot point. Thats crazy!! |

QUOTE(MR_alien @ May 25 2025, 09:11 PM) assembled locally, not made locally because CCP brand wanted to save as much cost as possible Chinese companies are definitely capable of producing quality parts for the cars. But whether car manufactures are paying them enough to manufacture quality parts is another question.the irony part is china is the leading country in steel production and they can't produce top quality parts for their cars With the prices they are selling and to top it up with massive discounts raises a big question mark on where they are skimping at. The urony is most consumers onlu care about the price tag and nothing else. This post has been edited by TOMEI-R: May 25 2025, 09:32 PM |

In the electronics industry, an example of a part made in China is said to be rated to deliver 1A output current. But 90% of the time, designer would use maybe just 10-30% of this maximum capability. So, when you try to use closer to the "maximum rating or even just like 80% of it", this is when the parts failed. A friend of mine that owns a shop in Psar Road has plenty of this sort of purchases from China. I believe this is the same happening in any industry for parts design and made in China. The German like to build to the limit they said and the Japanese beyond the limit and CCP products are made to sekadar tahan untuk kegunaan biasa. Push it further nearer to the "maximum specification", that's when you see the real specification.

QUOTE(Roman Catholic @ May 26 2025, 08:30 AM) That was what I was told by the Head Technician at the SC when I requested tests to be performed. Lets just say at this juncture, as a buyer, I wouldn't touch the current model based on what I have a seen. I happened to take a grab taxi from KLIA 2 weeks ago. S70 model. Have to agree the interior feel luxurious but somehow, I get the floating feeling even at 70-80 km/hour. And I was sitting at the front pax seat. Both my wife and dotter also feels the same when I asked them later. So it was not my own feeling as well. Secondly, there seems to be a huge vibration coming from the engine when the car was moving from stationary. It is like the whole front portion shakes/vibrates badly from 0-50 km/hr or thereabouts. The feel is like your wheel alignment is out and the car wobbles. It could be also the wheel are not aligned properly etc. I did not ask or speak to the driver about this as it is not nice to comment negatively to a stranger about his car. I made these comments coming from a 3-cylinder SUV Ativa, by comparison. |

Terkejut sial. U have totally misunderstood the whole concept of made in Malaysia cars. U see the parts all come from China and assembled in Malaysia. Even if the parts were made in Malaysia, it would have still followed instruction manuals from China on how to manafacture the part according to their specs. So since the car is already poorly engineered in China, it doesnt matter where the part is made , as long as its following a poorly engineered instruction manual, its gonna produce lousy products Thats China for u. They simply dont have the engineering expertise to make cars. All they know how to do is put leather onto seats, put leds lights into the cabin, put wheels onto tyres , and thats why they are good in making EVs because its the easiest car to make with the least amount of engineering required. |

QUOTE(fongsk @ May 26 2025, 08:36 AM) I happened to take a grab taxi from KLIA 2 weeks ago. Yup. Same feeling when i drove my friends S70. I dont understand how ppl can say S70 is a good car.S70 model. |

QUOTE(MR_alien @ May 25 2025, 09:11 PM) assembled locally, not made locally because CCP brand wanted to save as much cost as possible Because they dont have the engineering expertise. Just because u have a good raw material doesnt mean u can turn it into a high quality product. the irony part is china is the leading country in steel production and they can't produce top quality parts for their cars Same concept as I give u lee zi jia badminton racquet, does that mean u can play as good as him? |

QUOTE(sexysarah1992 @ May 26 2025, 09:03 AM) I will not comment that S70 is not a good car etc, as it can create unhappiness to the buyers/users. But I am sharing what I felt when riding the car. Maybe 55 mins ride was too short to make a good judgement but my comments are based on personal experience, rightly or wrongly. I am not condemning S70 in any way. |

QUOTE(sp3d2 @ May 26 2025, 11:23 AM) Yes, surprisingly so. That’s why I qualify my statement to say one of my ride is Ativa, to provide a comparison. I really did feel the floating even at 70-80 km/hr. Maybe side effect of after flight as well. But I had taken flights and take bezza, vios, city, saga before. No such ‘floating’ feel. Another point to note also is the sound when passing those speed control strips on the road. The feel is not comfortable and the sound of the blip blip invades the cabin very loudly. Again, I must stress that I am saying all these not to belittle or try to sabotage proton or S70. This is just my feeling when taking the S70. What I commented also can be due to the maintenance of the car since it is used for Grab. This post has been edited by fongsk: May 26 2025, 11:34 AM |
