A lot of foreigners especially from the Western world said
that Kuala Lumpur is soulless, boring and not much things to do.
Often in comparison to Bangkok or HCMC.
Singapore is also boring to them.

Now we all know it is just an euphemism for the absence of
cheap alcohol,
avaibility of drugs
and free sexual experience.

Now, my question -
HOW DO WE MAKE KL NOT BORING TO THEM

Of course, excluding the above activities.
We don't want LBH, passportbros or pedos on our streets anyway

2nd day - go to some shop and buy some shoe or shirt, go eat, doesn't matter where and go to gig

i get tired of noises after 1-2 nights.
I spent 7 days in Phuket and most of the time I go to the same Russian strip club in Bangla Soi.
I hate when Thai girls grabbing my arm to expect me to pay their bar fine.
Not a good impression on how low their life would be and we are contributing to it

QUOTE(Redhunt @ May 22 2025, 04:31 PM)
well, Malaysia is memang soulless

that is how it is when they cobbled disparate states , territories and freeports together to form Malaysia 1963

there is no soul to begin with.

and in between till then to now, there is a massive push towards displacement of native culture with Arabian culture
*
we already know that. just answer the question.

and again, what's up with Type C people here
not understanding Islamic lifestyle ≠ Arabic culture
Malay don't dress like Arabs, speaks Arabic, cook Arabic food or consume Arab pop culture.

those Ukro-Russo girls are in need of my money
to help them build up their home from wars
I'm directly supporting them.
Slava!

Thai girls are in much freedom to choose a better job
like not being a prostitute or massage lady

becoz it is just a concrete jungle..

in ANZ/Europe in the evenings or weekends i can take reliable public transport to attend cultural events/museums or go to the many parks / riversides to chill.. u see actual ppl living..

in malaysia everybody either in mall or coup up at home.. becoz going out u need money and jam jam jam..

hence boring..
*
dei, u ingat malaysian dont do that kah?
BB is packed with locals waiting for their buskers to perform
They are posting daily videos and live streams of these live performances on YT

I live in Kuching
I have a waterfront nearby where locals like me jog and stroll in the evening till night.
Nearby also got one big lake near State library everyone go exercise, chill, feed fish and Zumba dance

You can only visit a museum once only, unless there's a limited time gallery.
Here we have one of the best museum in SE Asia.
I just visited it 2 weeks ago, Just pay like RM10 and it is worth it

When I was 10-20 years younger, I used to go to local shows of local artiste
or see a live band in pubs around town.

PAS is a Mullah party, not a Malay party like UMNO
Mullah = a Muslim learned in Islamic theology and sacred law.

aiya... we have so many clubs in KL but not as wild as in Bangkok... maybe feel boring... How about nightlife in Dubai city? Not boring meh? Also islamic country
*
what is "wild" in your definition?
those "wild" things only available especially in Thailand and Vietnam
which is LOW CLASS entertainment.

Go spend a week during FMP in Phangan
and you wish that thses people will never visit Malaysia.

I've partied in clubs in Jakarta, Bali, Singapore, KL, KK, Penang, Kuching and Miri
and it feels much more enjoyable but civil.
being around drunk gap year white kids or off duty Israelis reserves in Thailand is not fun.
and also I've been to clubs in London, Amsterdam, Perth and Prague, where it is definitely "tame" in my respective

Dazzle them with wayang kulit,
*
i hate to say this but those things are what tiktok or netflix is replacing now.
i was old enough to experience wayang pacak in my kampung
i wasn't from east coast so no wayang kulit or anything similar

the only cultural thing that is still going is weddings
We have Nopeng, which is a dance festival the night before the wedding and
a bunch of local Hor Lor or Bingo activities
while the kampung folks slaughter a bull and prepare it to cook
I still see this in parts of Sarawak until now.

I still see traditional Orang Ulu dance in a mall last Saturday.
In fact I've seen those things a lot.

Next week is Gawai. So it is normal to visit kampung to see some Miring or Ngajat

apa lu mau aktuali?

those Ukro-Russo strip bars are not noisy as much as locals one.
You hardly can talk in those, with all the haggling and arm grabbing.

Plus where can you see a white girl dance naked in front of you upside down in a 360 spiral?

Maybe but you see Tokyo is always crowded even for Japanese. Domestic consumption quite high.

Can't say the same for seoul, Singapore , London. Really really really boring.

London can be boring if compared to Amsterdam or some other cities.
But I managed to fill my time around Soho at night, around Hyde Park during the day

Yeah, for sure.
Most Ozzie cities are.

I got bored after 4 days in Sydney with 3 days left.
Spent my time walking up and down from The Rock to Newtown just because I'm bored
Perth is much better, but because I have friends who lives there

Don't get me started on NZ cities

I know it’s fun and thrill, but you find it enjoyable to go on daily basis?
*
i go with friends and making new ones there.
It is not as noisy as other local places.
The girls usually ignores you,
there is a special room at the back for more private stuffs.

Once, there is a table next to us full with Russians
and the 6-8 girls swarms the table, probably around 3 good looking guys
they're drinking Vodka, obviously
singing some Russian songs. All of them
It was quite fun to watch.
Again, if the place is too loud, I wouldn't be hearing them singing.

One thing got me hooked was not the boobs and vagene, but the dance.
Local Thais usually do halfheartedly pole dancing,
just barely swinging their hips and
just waiting for the song to be over
These Russian women, they do it 110%.
like you see in the movies.
a full dance routine with upside down, from top till bottom pole, 360 swirl, fully naked.

and it is not that expensive anyway.
a Thai note is like RM2 or RM10. You can stick them in their panties while they dance.
They'll sit on you, let you motorboat their chest and such.
As long as you are tipping them good early on.
Thai girls are not that... easy I guess. Everything, money money money first.

My first Thai strip club experience was in 2006, and I got bored after 4-5 spots
Once one friend drags us to this one "atas" club till 4am in Bangla Soi
i took a nap on the sofa just waiting for him. The girls doesn't even make an effort to dance

satisfied with my answer?

I am almost 40 now, and I seen an increase of Malays dressing up more conservatively like wearing purdah (I never seen this as a kid) and the popularization of Arab food (not common when I was a kid, nowadays you go to bukit bintang, you probably find more Arab restaurants than Malay restaurants.)
*
Purdah or wearing tudung is popular now because of the Islamization of media, that is true.
It does come to peer pressure as well.

Regarding Arabic food, it is the influx of Syrian war refugee around early 2010.
Most of them are Syrian and Afghan. Even the Arab square in BB was way before the war.
And the Lebanese restaurants along (where the new Damascus) the street existed was in 2000.
Lebanese used to be popular in my area back in 2000.
Lebanese is de facto Arab food.

Well, no one talks about the Korean and Japanese culture boom in BB, right?
Only the small patch of Arab corner in BB.

When people go on holiday, they want to relax and enjoy.

Drinking is a heritage and culture in japan, Korea, PRC, Taiwan, EU, Australia, etc. having alcohol with meal and in the evening is common and popular.

Alcohol price in this country is among the most expensive in Asia. Few tourists return for second visit.
*
there's tourist - who wanna relax, eat and shop
and there's travelers - who wanna experience things without bringing too much stuffs back home

guess who contributes more to our country
AMDK travellers, backpackers, DN?
or China and Indian middle class tourists
