I have 1 exactly like you put into picture. the horizontal leg is very flimsy. I exerted a bit of force when I'm on the ladder and it bended and I fell. I think I broke fourth toe.

Probably copty of good brand like Everlast. That low quality one will have thinner material not designed to rated weight.

Allu won't rust, but the small parts at joint might not be allu

Yup, exactly this. The "klak...klak...klak...klak.." gear part with the spring inside will rust, and it will eventually stop functioning. Then u can buang the ladder. Worse is when it stop functioning while the ladder is unfolded. U cant fold it coz gear sudah jam, and u cant bring it inside your house coz the ladder too long.

the hinges and folding mechanism is not aluminum, that will rust over time
*
Yes the hinge part is not aluminum but composite metal. That will rust. Even indoor humidity over time will make it hard to move if not sprayed with lubricant.

Why need to put outside in rain? It would be a nice tool for thief to get into the house. If really need to put in rain, then why need foldable type? Get one that can slide and latch like the one used by TM or painter.

Don't bother with this ladder, it's flimsy and very heavy. Get the usual A Type Aluminium, last very long.
