you can do everything with AI, just with a bit of manual input here and there. for the video part, you can ask AI to write a script for you. try to memorize it a little, then jot down some key points and place them next to the camera. this way, you can speak in your own words while still having prompts to guide you.

supervisor part, just ask the AI how to respond appropriately. feed it the relevant details, and it can help draft your reply.

it might seem a bit tedious, but honestly, i don’t think it should take more than two hours.

i don’t think anyone will really enjoy it, but to be honest, it kinda suits the position he’s aiming for, right? i mean, how can you do marketing for a company if you can’t even market yourself?

The only time that I will consider marketing myself is through an actual interview, face to face having a conversation with my potential future boss or colleagues. What a CV is not enough until the company needs to pull all these little stunts?

Or the company is really that busy until cannot arrange a 30 min interview with the candidate? Man stop defending these bullshit practices. Like what I said above, it’s a normal job not some high management executive position. If you don’t want me in the beginning you can just straight away decline me. The issue is that they saw my CV, email me back and said that they are interested in me and proceed to ask me to fill in all these shit. Why not just arrange an interview? They can’t even do the most basic thing which is putting an effort to have an actual conversation.

i get your frustration and you know what? the employer probably saw it too. maybe that’s exactly why they set things up this way, to see how candidates handle pressure, uncertainty, or things not going their way. not every test is about skills; sometimes it’s about attitude.

try to see this as a test. do you think once you're hired, everything’s going to be smooth sailing? that every customer will always be nice, punctual, and reasonable?

so when things don’t go your way, is this how you’ll react? complaining, blaming others, and looking for validation from strangers online?

personally, i see all this negativity toward the company as an opportunity. fewer people willing to take it on means a better chance for me.

anyway, just my two cents. wishing you the best of luck!

I don’t think you understand what I try to express and everything you said is irrelevant to the situation here. This is not a fresh grad job nor it is a management level position. From the way I see you are no difference like what this company is trying to achieve, which is giving headache to the candidate.

You’re trying to shift the blame to me and act like I was the problem. It is true that they have the right to set up this type of process to filter out people but I also have the right to complaint and outright reject this type of practices. No need to guilt trip me as I have worked many roles before especially in the customer service department and I know what stress is.

You mentioned that
“they set things up this way, to see how candidates handle pressure, uncertainty, or things not going their way”

Let me ask you this, does questions they asked like (where is your supervisor now, would you be willing to arrange for us to talk with him/her, What is your best guess as to what that supervisor really felt at that time were your strengths and weaker points?) have anything to do with “how candidates handle pressure, uncertainty, or things not going their way“? Completely irrelevant. And as for the questions they ask up on top, they can ask during the interview as well. If they really want to see how candidates handle pressure, it should be during the interview itself. How does filling up pointless question have anything to do with how I handle pressure? Like what you suggested earlier, if I really wanted the job I could use AI to fill in everything, where’s the pressure in that?

And how can you determine someone’s attitude online, moreover  filling in all these useless question when you don’t even give candidate a chance to have an actual conversation with you?

I don’t think you know what you’re talking about but anyway I wish you all the best and pray that you or your future generation don’t have to face this kind of issue during job hunting smile.gif

have you ever met a tricky client who, before you even start your presentation, immediately asks, “so, what are your company’s weaknesses?” how would you handle that in real time when you can’t even figure it out now with all the time in the world?

or when a client insists on doing things their way, even if it’s totally out of the norm, are you just going to tell them: i set the rules.

from my first reply here, all i’ve been trying to do is help or maybe shift your perspective a little, for your own benefit. but if that’s not appreciated, i get it. not everyone thinks the same way, and that’s fair.

which approach is more beneficial in the long run? that’s debatable. but i always try not to blame the situation. instead, i ask myself what can i learn from this? and more importantly, how can i come out of it better? that’s the part i can control, so that’s where i choose to take charge, instead of stressing over what i can’t.
