Toshiba now under skyworth china

Skyworth's Acquisition:
In 2015, Skyworth announced the acquisition of Toshiba's Southeast Asian TV business.

Toshiba's Exit:
This acquisition allowed Toshiba to focus its resources on other areas, including the Japanese market and specifically drum and top-loading washing machines.

Skyworth's Expansion:
The deal enabled Skyworth to diversify its earning sources and gain a presence in a highly regarded TV brand in Southeast Asia.

Toshiba Brand in Southeast Asia:
Skyworth now produces and sells TVs under the Toshiba brand in Southeast Asia.

Hypermarket more to cheapo tvs nowadays. They allocate less space for show electronics

Chain store big size can have more space to show a lot brand. So that why bravia is only in these stores now. Also bravia now gone up market , 3 series is overpriced for what it is, want something better (like XBR range before) need up to 7 or 9 series

slight amendment…

midea own toshiba lifestyle products and services  not skyworth

Toshiba now is split into many parts because of accounting crisis before
Toshiba appliances (kitchen/bathroom) > midea Toshiba lifestyle
Toshiba tee vee > hisense regza (TVS)
Toshiba flash > kioxia (partially own by several storage giants WD/SanDisk/Seagate/hynix)

People said Midea AC is Toshiba. That's why great and reliable. Correct info?
*
Midea ac used compressor technology from Toshiba for more recent models. But that doesn't necessarily means midea ac can be as reliable as Toshiba tho
