i have try out different fuel for my Myvi, previously pump only BHP & Petronas/Shell, but after try out Petron, cannot go back to other fuel ady, even my GF can feel the different when she drive the myvi.

in shot, for term of power & responsive for RON95:

PETRON 95> BHP 95/ CALTEX 95 > PETRONAS 95 > SHELL 95
but for RON97:

SHELL VPR 97 > PETRONAS 97 > Others
i also notice that Petron 95 & BHP 95 can give me average 15KM/L in KL area, Shell & Petronas only can get below 14KM/L

the "additives are a secret" and without scientific backing.
so enjoy your placebo and chatgpt hallucinations.
the only tangible thing is rebates/points you get.
personally i choose petronas because the stations are usually in better condition, better toilets, points is straight forward and everywhere available.

There are a list of chemical relate to it, if you believe all petrol station formula is same then is your choice. The only thing i believe is the same across is the octane rating, but the rest chemical/additives inside some might add more or reduce some % to cater their own formula.

As a long term user of Caltex, im kinda struggle to bash them with this post, i like techron as it really works.

But too bad Caltex and Petron secretly add MMT (Methylcyclopentadienyl Manganese Tricarbonyl) AKA Octane booster. I hate this things which will coat on o2 sensor and cause false reading, the worst case clog catalytic converter.

Im using either bhp or petronas now for the peace of mind.
Shell has some additive like we turn on eco mode, too lean for my liking😮‍💨

Disclaimer, above statement was base on personal experience on ron95, does not comfirmed to all the stations.

Spark plug was not a big deal, it's powder like Manganese which is metal will clog catalytic converter and disturb reading of o2 sensor.

I also hope it wasn't MMT, but doing tons of research im very disappointed they added it secretly.

It was banned by most countries due to environment concern.

Only company with cheap fuel quality will use it for example making 91 to 93/95 fuel.
