actual issue of EV losing power is no big deal
it's repercussions on the other hand....
sitting standstill unable to do anything in the middle of the highway is def a big deal

this "SUDDEN" stop
is rather subjective

sudden enough to cause panic for first time driver experiencing this YES

theoretically EV should have sufficient momentum (at speed) to glide to safety (traffic dependent, not sure emergency blinkers work or not this time)
since it's already been ascertained that the wheels didn't actually LOCK while vehicle was in motion but upon reaching standstill - may be wrong but so far from can be deduced, all vehicles should / must glide upon loss of power,
after stopping if the wheels are locked lain cite - but i guess it's a safety precaution to ensure car doesn't keep rolling further

If u take Tesla for example which is having one of the hardest regen, if not the hardest, from 60kmh to total stop will take around 50m plus gliding distance
*
60km/h with approx 50m of travel distance can be considered alright to get to a safe stop spot
this i assume is with the pedal off the accelerator, while still having enough batt juice
i take it should behave the same in a total power loss situation (give or take)

Ev is on regen, its doesn’t have enuf glide of momentum for emergency lane unlike ICE engine lights on u can still move to emergency lane…

For ev if sudden electronic failure belakang got car hamkachan already…

seringgit on the table i say can biggrin.gif

also depends on topgraphy of the road

flat straight am sure can reach emergency lane without much problem at any speed given that it's moving traffic (not jam)
and
neighbouring vehicles give way if switching lanes required
