Wait wait

1) the land belonged to a guy right?
2) so the guy allowed a mosque to be built on top of it but the land title was still under him.
3) when he died his grand son inherited the land.
4) seeing that a mosque was already on the land but the grand son wanted to make money out of it, decided to dupe a chinese guy to buy the land.

So the issue is how the hell did the land title go to the grandson and not the mosque?
