Getting Started

|
Floor below mine lodged a report of leakage at their bathroom ceiling. Management checked and reported a loose (or deteriorated) discharge pipe end cap. So basically water came from my bathroom unit (level 7), leaked and damaged level 6 bathroom ceiling. Management gave 7 days to me (level 7) to seek professional help / to rectify the problem.
The unit is tenanted. Now, question is... is the landlord or the tenant responsible for the repair cost?

QUOTE(Aizat2402 @ May 5 2025, 12:16 PM) ok thanks.. i thought so too.. is it like under the law or something? It's common sense law. is the owner need to pay/do. If your wall crack or piping burst everything is landlord. Your tenant only rent the unit but don't own the unit.

This is landlord pay. All wear and tear of the property normally cost is by landlord. E.g pipe pecah, plastee ceiling rosak (not because tenant throw stuff), pipe bocor, sliding door roller rosak etc etc.

the fact that you have to ask such question shows that you are not ready to be a landlord.
