Woman on way to MACC missing since April 9, claims brother
PETALING JAYA: A mother of three has been reported missing since last month while en route to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s headquarters in Putrajaya.
Pamela Ling, 42, was on her way to meet the anti-graft agency’s officers to provide a statement linked to an ongoing investigation on April 9, when she was allegedly abducted, her brother, Simon, claimed.
Simon said the family has been made to understand that the e-hailing car that Pamela was travelling in that day was intercepted by three unidentified vehicles, and she was instructed to get into one of them.
“Pamela has not been seen or heard from since that afternoon. It has now been more than 20 days since her disappearance,” he said in a statement.
He said repeated calls and texts by her family and lawyer to her after 2pm that day went unanswered.
“We fear for her safety. The circumstances surrounding Pamela’s disappearance are highly unusual and demand an investigation,” he said.
The family lodged a police report and said they were informed that police had initiated an investigation for kidnapping.
FMT has contacted Putrajaya police for comment.
Simon urged the police to intensify their efforts to pursue all possible leads, noting that time is of the essence.
He also urged members of the public who may have information on the matter to come forward and assist in locating Pamela.
He said his sister’s last known residence was at an apartment at Sunway Velocity in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.
