Laugh now but don't cry when all you can buy is linglong tyre and chemical laden food.

We have a lot of small traditional cottage industry like soy sauce and sesame oil that are made with good quality ingredients and traditional ways. I value my own health and I support my fellow Malaysians. You want to eat those cheap Chinese chemicals go eat yourself.

You talk as though as our local SMEs are concerned about the health of Malaysians. Ptuih

See how they wash the dishes. See the bananas why ripe so fast. Local SMEs are the same. Many more examples like fuzuk and tofu. Cottage industry my ass.

Ohh not to forget. They dump toxic waste into rivers. How many times Klang Valley water supply affected because of this? I say if local SMEs dai, then I'm sorry this has to happen. But competition is good for consumers. Work harder to give better products. Maybe first by actually giving less toxic laden food products.

Banana ripe so fast is controlled by using ethylene gas which is harmless. Don't know science but want to comment, lol.

I'm not talking about how they care about our health. I'm talking about they still using real ingredients, not chemical production. Chinese soy sauce is a good example, Chinese companies have local version and export to Western country versions. Why? Export version has way less chemical. That's why.

Harmless my ass. How do you know it is ethylene and not calcium carbide?

Please don't bring in the "ripe faster cheaper for consumers. If don't make it ripe faster, can you afford or not" argument.

Greed and Corruption are spurred on by Money. Western companies also do this all the time.

You see the FREE Adobe Reader software to read PDFs. They insert a small additional software into your download called McAfee Security Scan Plus, and the opt out is not clear to most people. So sneaky. Last time (like 15 years ago) they never did such shit to this degree. Nowadays many corrupted businesses are doing all kinds of shit. Really BAD now.

Few months ago, Adobe inserted other bloatware/malware into your download.

The only difference between Western and China/Eastern system is the better or worse argument. China is still worse but doesn't mean Western is all good. whistling.gif

When you cannot clearly see a good option, it is even more important to not choose the worst option.

Exactly. If locals western and Chinese all also bad, and Chyna is cheapest, what would a typical consumer do? Support local? When gula naik 30 sen local company ada ke support rakyat? When inflation berlambak tinggi local company ada ke support rakyat?

There is a reason why it can be made cheaper. When it comes to food and safety, don't just choose the cheapest.

Perhaps local SMEs are just not willing to put in more effort to be competitive and coming out with excuses and fear mongering.

Anyway it is up to local SMEs. They can choose to continue offer bad value, or change and offer better value. Let the market decide the winner. But if local SMEs ask for ploteksyen....

Lets get it straight, many understand this already. There are things non-negotiable and shouldn't skim. What it is depends on who's answering u.

We are talking about those scenarios whereby the local seller is selling the same damn thing as from Chyna platforms for 50% and more. Cutting the middleman is a smart way to be kind to yourself and family - a fool and his money are soon be apart

If they are really good and the consumers know it, then no problem right? They will survive
