You forgotten this French rising star ke? He can ta pao LZJ like nothing, so our other singles player unlikely to win him.

Lanier's momentum currently is similar to Lin Dan at the same age.

I think France lose on purpose. They didn't put out Alex Lanier as Men Singles represent.

They put Arnauld Merkle who is technically a unknown but veteran France player.

Jun Hao wouldn't win Lanier.

Group stages usually have alot of plannings.

I believe they feel that they have to reserve their best for Japan. They expect us to lose to Japan, so in the end, both team are 1-1 win-lose.

Japan MD, Hoki and Kobayashi have better H2H against our Aaron/Soh.......but our Din Fei have slight edge over the Japan pair having beating them in recent Asia Championship but that time Japan pair just back from long layoff due to injury

so MD points depends on whether the Jpn pair fully regain their form.... XD if put CTJ/TEW, should have advantage

but WD i think hard coz Shida/Matsuyama have good lead against our Soya Cincau pair

MS if field Naraoka vs LJH, Japan have slight advantage only coz recently Naraoka form seems no good....but LJH game very boring, and dragging

so expect a battle of fitness for both....

WS, forgone conclusion....no fight

You shd know how tough it is get citizenship for non Muslims spouses in Malaysia….there are so many stories of many professionals whose spouse are Malaysians who are on employment permits…..some of these are specialists in the field like medical etc…anyway, I doubt Aya wants to play anymore after her marriage. She has quit competitive badminton already, I heard.

second place of the group need to face countries that get first place, China, Korea or Indonesia/Denmark, or even face back Japan

if draw against china sure we will lost

against Korea, we have advantage MS only.......XD, 50/50, WD 40/60, MD, 50/50, WS 10/90

so our best bet will be drawn to face Indo or Denmark in quarter

Malaysia smash into Sudirman Cup q-finals

Malaysia secured their place in the Sudirman Cup quarter-finals after overcoming Australia 4-1 in their second Group C match on Tuesday (April 29).

Mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei, the first Malaysians to step onto the court, made a successful return as a duo after a brief separation due to internal issues.

Despite the recent disruption, they showed no signs of rust, cruising past Ricky Tang-Gronya Somerville 21-8, 21-12 in just 27 minutes.

Men’s singles shuttler Justin Hoh then extended Malaysia’s lead with an assured performance, brushing aside Shrey Dhand 21-9, 21-15 in 36 minutes.

“I’m very excited to play in my first Sudirman Cup and happy to deliver a point for Malaysia,” said Justin in an interview with the Badminton World Federation (BWF).

“My opponent played quite well and I felt a bit of pressure, so I’m pleased to have handled the match well.”

Women’s singles player K Letshanaa sealed the tie for Malaysia with a commanding 21-6, 21-8 victory over world No. 126 Teoh Kai Qi.

Although the win was already secured, Malaysia maintained their momentum as Asian champions Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik produced another dominant display to dispatch Jack Yu-Frederick Zhao 21-8, 21-9 in the men’s doubles.

Australia earned a consolation point through the women’s doubles, with Somerville returning to the court alongside Angela Yu to beat Go Pei Kee-Carmen Ting 21-15, 21-18.

Back to his old long rally habits again. First set, he was decisive and go direct for kill. 2ns set, starts to rally and rally and rally… Haiz

First set, a few strokws and he wins points. Second set, struggles to even win points cos he just return shuttle all over the court.

Miyazaki confirm win Goh Jin Wei. Just different level.

Tomoka Miyazaki is a prodigy player who is only 18 years old wei.

Fun fact is that Tomoka has beaten Akane Yamaguchi (Japan No.1 WS) many times already.

Malaysia's only other current WS is the Indian girl what name Letshana something. Not very good also though.

Malaysia's highest achieving WS player still is Wong Mew Choo, who is LCW's wife.

I agree. Stupid idiot. He sounded like Malaysian. He shd comment on the game and not on the player! And the way he bashed the Malaysian player(Jun Hao and especially on JIn Wei) is uncalled for. He is supposed to comment on the game and not on the player. I don’t know why he is chosen as a commentator as well. A piece of shxt!

Going to be tough, honestly. We shd have taken the top position today in the group. Unfortunately our men’s doubles failed to secure the winning point for us. Well, that’s life. Let’s hope for an upset tmr.

Let's just say if we are not 2-0 in our favour, or tied 1-1 by the time WS begins, you can switch off the TV and say "next time then".

LJH might be able to cause an upset, as SYQ form is kinda erratic.

WS, Goh Jin Wei used to be the right one but injury and some sickness affected her....

after that seems cannot find a suitable one.....

WD, Pearly and Thinah consider ok lar, world top 10 pair, but not the greatest, just enough in top 10

We always able to produce good youth players but somehow BAM unable to guide them to their best as they grow. GJW is Youth Olympic Gold while China WZY Silver but look where are they now?

GJW play like going retired soon with her injuries while WZY now ranking no.2

XD lost.....our pair still lacking when face top pair

CTJ shots variations still need some improvement

TEW have good sense in front of net....other than that pretty average on others

women players in XD need to do more than that

and both have some minor UE.....thats what differentiate them from top pairs

Shi Yuqi is invincible now.

It's hard to believe he was once the man beaten by LCW 5-0

As of May 2, 2025, Lee Chong Wei and Shi Yuqi have faced each other five times in official BWF-sanctioned matches, with Lee Chong Wei winning all five encounters.

### Head-to-Head Record: Lee Chong Wei vs. Shi Yuqi

Match Tournament Result
----- ---------------------- ------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------
1 2015 Yonex Canada Open Lee Chong Wei won 21–14, 21–15
2 2016 Japan Open Lee Chong Wei won 21–12, 21–12
3 2017 All England Open Lee Chong Wei won 21–12, 21–10
4 2017 Japan Open Lee Chong Wei won 21–19, 21–8
5 2017 Hong Kong Open Lee Chong Wei won 21–19, 21–8

Funny thing Shi Yuqi was the ultimate flop in Olympics 2024 that even LZJ look far better than him back then which by extreme luck LZJ manage to get bronze medal.

Thought when you compared SYQ and LZJ, skill differences is like heaven and earth in terms of consistency and polishness of technique.

Now LZJ take break so long, he will no longer be able to catch up to the top dogs anymore.

the 1st 2 games are the most crucial. if we can't win a game sayonara already for our men and women doubles. they can start packing, no need to play. our woman single is as good as gone.

any great idea? we put who also the same result. don't blame her we just don't have a woman single who is capable.
if we want to blame, blame it on yesterday for our men and women doubles why can't either 1 of them win.

There is no way they can beat China at any day, any time.

They could have more chances if they beat Japan and avoid meeting China.
