Finally today is the day

I watched it last night and it’s easily one of the best entries in the series. I went in almost blind, only watching the teaser to avoid spoilers, and was genuinely surprised by a major reveal:



What stood out to me most was how the story sort of flips the usual approach. In Prey (from 2022), the focus was on the humans while the Predator was the intruding threat. This time, the story is told from the Predator’s perspective.

It also works as an origin story... showing how a Predator must complete a hunt to earn its place within the tribe. This gives more meaning to the motives seen in earlier films, which often revolved around crash landings or random hunts.

There is emotional weight too, similar to Prey. Seeing a new planet through the Predator’s eyes is refreshing. What would kill a human instantly becomes something Dek learns to use to his advantage. The creativity in the fights is impressive, comparable to both Prey (and the animated Predator Killer of Killers). If you haven't watched these two, please do!

At about 1 hour and 45 minutes, the pacing is solid and it stays engaging throughout. My only complaint is that cinemas really need to brighten their projection. With so many scenes taking place in low light, it was sometimes hard to see the details clearly.

The ending sequence was a great touch...


If you enjoyed Predator, Aliens or Dan Trachtenberg’s Prey, this one is a must-watch. If you are not into these kinds of films, you might find it a little off-putting and end up comparing it to other sci-fi titles. The Predator movies have their own unique, raw kind of action that sets them apart.

A solid 8.5/10 from me.

"Sadly, the film is well-written and executed, but it has been compared to the previous movies from the Predator franchise. Why is it a missed opportunity? - It would’ve been the best chance for originality and authenticity to be exposed and promoted on top of the classical family and abuse theme—a new protagonist. But yeah. It is, unfortunately, how these rampant capitalists work. Riding the IP could be the main bait for the public to come out for this one. But with almost an unlimited budget for global marketing, it could’ve been used for what I stated above."

4 once i got the feeling Disney animation way better than Pixar animation in 2025😈😈
