back in the day, it was already tricky enough when people would send photos taken in specific ways, using certain poses, angles, and lighting to make themselves look better than they actually were. then photoshop came along, and things got even messier. now, with AI, even facetime can't be trusted. it's safer to just use a simple profile picture with minimal editing, so there's no need to send pictures privately. sending them privately is risky because people might use it against you. since you're already malu-malu, they could manipulate the image with AI, turning it into something inappropriate, then blackmail you for money or threaten to share it with your contacts. malu-malu people often fall victim to this. the best approach is to avoid posting pictures online altogether and focus on connecting with people around your like kolik or friends of friends.
