I think RM90/m for 500mbps is actually a good deal.
Because normally you can't simply reduce monthly fixed fee, unless you downgrade the package to reduce the speed.

Although it has small difference at RM18 for 2 years.
RM90 is permanent and will not revert back to RM119 after 2 years.
I think this is important because, who knows year end when Gov announce the new budget, we will get another free speed boost. drool.gif

Maybe gonna boost from 500mbps to 800mbps or even 1Gbps? drool.gif
So even after the contract ended, you are only paying RM90/m for 1Gbps drool.gif

If RM90 plan still comes with free STD, or even free router or mode. Then I think it's one of the best deal out there.
You can sell the router and modem and get another "free" month.

Currently I'm still on SWU 3.0, RM119/m (free 6 months), it boosted last year from 300mbps>500mbps.
Contract gonna end in September. Let's see what I can get later. icon_idea.gif

If you have less than 6 months contract, you can go and apply for SWU.
Previously before moving to SWU 3.0 I had like ~3 months contract left.
Then 3.0 to 5.0 had ~5 months left.

Both were waived and refreshed back to 2 years, no issue smile.gif

My current package: SWU3.0 RM119/m with free STD.

Digging thru this threads.
What is the best play here to get smoothest upgraded from SWU 3.0> SWU 5.0?
1. Apply online account termination and wait TM sales to call for offer?
2. Apply port out from TM to Allo fiber, Digi fiber, Astro fiber RM90/m and wait TM counter offer?
3. Visit TM point and request for SWU 5.0 but might force to bundle with Unifi mobile?

I don't care about Disney+, Netflix or any entertainment packages.
My ideal package is to get cheapest package RM90/m with free STD, because I think getting a fixed fee is better than temporary free 6 months deal in a long run.
If we ever get boosted again, from 500mpbs > 800Mbps+STD with RM90/m. I think is a crazy deal.

do you still under contract?
What is your current package and price before the change?
What is your script to request for the plan change?
Do you have STD?

Any other condition that need to fulfill for the plan change?

Contract finish already. Previous package unifi 300mb, free pro upgrade to 500mb. Was paying rm129 monthly.

I just walked in, said my contract finish ed. Straight to the point said wanna switch plan to swu 5.0, 500mb @ rm90. Initially, the staff said price is rm139, free 6months.

Then i said, haritu kwn sy baru tukar plan 500mbs @ rm90. She check system, straight away said ok cannn. LoL

No STD for this plan.

SWU plan only for existing customer whose contract already expired. No other t&c as im aware off.
Renew contract 2 years + must take unifi mobile postpaid for 3 months @ rm39.

But i read some forumer said no need to wait 3 months, can cancel already. Since, i already paid for the 1st month, gonna wait until next month before cancelling the postpaid.

The chances of getting RM90/m offer has to be contract ended. Guess I need to wait couple of months more.

Yes, but some people got them a few months before their contract ended, you can try your luck. However, mine was after the contract ended. I just wanted to switch to Astro Fiber, and that's how I got counter-offered. I was the first one to get it here in April, and with an additional free STD20 still being retained. laugh.gif
*
That's awesome, the free STD is nice because my mom use that quite often.
Maybe I can go and try my luck brows.gif

So you actually did initiated termination for unifi? Or you get the official offers from Astro then TM counter-offered?
Did they force you to get the unifi mobile?

My story about migrating to SWU5.0 with 12-month D+H:

On 20/06/2025, I visited the only TM Point in my area around 4:45 pm. I asked that service officer, is there a retention program or promo for contract-free users? She said yes, and started introducing her 2 SWU packages, which are 300Mbps FOC for 6 months, just one is without a TV 24-month contract, and another with a 55" TV 36-month contract, but both packages' monthly commitments are higher than my current one. Truly, I'm uninterested, as I told her I intend to reduce my commitment. So I wrote the SWU5.0 with Disney RM90 on her paper, and she said she got it, but she needs me to subscribe to the Unifi mobile for 3 months. And I also asked if I can migrate another account which still has 2 2-month contract. However, she said she cannot do any migration as long as in the contract, even though I offered to subscribe to another Unifi mobile. Therefore, I only managed to get one account contract-free, migrating to SWU5.0 with a 12-month D+H

23/06/2025 I received a WhatsApp from that officer who mentioned she had entered my order into the system this morning. The modify order is activated (completed) and the package name changed to Unifi Home 500Mbps StaywithUnifi 5.0 (Disney)(90) after one hour.

I will just keep my Unifi mobile for another 2 months, as I still have another account that is going to finish its contract on 23/08/2025. Plan to cut all Unifi mobile after I get that account migrated.

So the SWU 5.0 RM90 package still exist. Good to know. Hopefully this package still available until september when my contract ends.

Regarding the unifi mobile, do you need to signup on the spot and they will activate the sim card on the spot too?
Or the unifi mobile "arrive" with the package upgrade?
I'm thinking if I can challenge this enforcement by reporting to mcmc.

Request termination even when still under contract?
I remember I saw someone did this here, after the retention team call back and rejected his offer because he still under contract.

Should be this guy, thanks for chipping in.
QUOTE(dannychen @ Jun 23 2025, 05:31 PM)
Tried termination trick online and it doesn't work for me because they knew that I still have 4 months+ contract. Penalty is > RM 479. Actual value to be confirm with their billing department.

Walked in to TM Point Kepong and it works but was forced to applied Unifi Mobile. Requested for cancellation on same day at different branch.

Will get it if hunting around. Just how desperate to get it only.

Yup, the SIM card will be activated on the spot as they will send you a payment link.
I had submitted the termination request on 4/6/25 and called 100 2 times for an enquiry, but nobody called me back for confirmation.
Even though the package changed today also nobody called at all. Just the package plan name changed.
*
So you submitted the termination request in the end you cancelled it before going to TM point?

Existing package
- SWU 3.0, 500 Mbps RM119/m
- Free 6 months bill
- Contract expire at September 2025

Unifi Store visit
2025 Jun 9: Request for SWU 5.0, rejected by staff, was told only offer for those contract ended.

Unifi Portal Termination
2025 July 11: Termination request
2025 July 22: Received call

Same old scripts. Astro offer bla bla bla.

Package I get:
- 500 Mbps RM90/m
- Free Disney Hotstar 1 Year
- STD 20 Carry forward, 600 min free call
- Renew Contract for 2 years
- No new router or modem
- No Unifi mobile

Was told the cheapest package is available for me is 100Mbps, RM79/m

Like a lot of the people already mentioned, technically SWU 3.0 is cheaper after deducted the free bills. It's RM89.25 for 24 months, however the pricing is not perpetual.

I think secure perpetual pricing is important.
Who knows year end during budget announcement, we will get another round of speed boost. 500Mbps > 800Mbps brows.gif

SWU package is not really a general public knowledge. Unless you are in unifi fb group or online forum like here.
My Sister unifi package expired for more than a year, no call, no offer from TM, paying around RM129 or 139 for 300mbps iirc.
She "almost" opt for 3 years unifi iPad package, because she saw the xhs post mentioning renew unifi for 3 years get free iPad.
"Why not take it if it's free? Free is the best!"
Until I told her she is getting ripped off and realize SWU package existed. My cousin not aware as well.

This dude logic is sweat.gif :
"nah bro, I an''t going to get the secretive cheaper package. Because later TM "SURE" will convert all 500mbps to private IP. I will just wait TM to "retain" me and offer me higher tier package and continue to get private IP, I'm smart, hehe checkmate TM! rclxs0.gif ".

While sitting there just like the rest of the general public with contract expired, paying higher price some even slower speed.
This dude logic: "one day TM sure will offer me 800mbps and I'm guaranteed private IP icon_rolleyes.gif".

TM bank account stonks devil.gif .

No, his logic is he pays more so TM will not convert his to private IP while the rest of us who pay less will have higher chances to be converted to private IP. The thing is TM won't bother how much you are paying, if it is affects 500Mbps, it will affect all. Seems like simple logic like this is hard to be understood by "some people".

What?

If TM decide to set 500Mbps plans to private IP then upgrade to 1Gbps account lar.

Can upgrade anytime even when still under contract.

So, apa problem?

- He shows persistent fear of “private IP”, even when the situation is unlikely
- He ignores logical counterpoints
- He repeats the same fear-driven reasoning for months
- He believes paying more money gives him “protection”
- He strongly avoids being “tied” to contracts
- He expects special future offers without proof
- He thinks “higher speed later” will save him if something changes

✅ 2. Catastrophic Thinking
✅ 3. Confirmation Bias
✅ 4. Repetitive and Circular Reasoning
✅ 5. Illogical Risk Evaluation

🏁 Conclusion
The person displays a high-anxiety, fear-driven, risk-avoidant personality with strong confirmation bias and a tendency to catastrophize.
He is not logical or evidence-based, and his decisions come from fear of losing control, rather than real data.

That’s why:
- He keeps repeating baseless claims
- He refuses cheaper/better deals
- He clings to the illusion of “safety” by paying more
- He spreads fear to others to validate his own anxiety
This is not malice — just an anxious, overthinking personality seeking control in unpredictable situations.
