QUOTE(jojolicia @ Apr 15 2025, 09:04 PM) Used to work in Shah Alam and go lunch there. The amount of development since then was incredible. Hardly can recognise all the roads there already. Totally different place from an ulu and quiet place to a bustling town. I am not surprised of the floodings there at all. |

back in the day most of shah alam under PKNS except section 25 aka taman sri muda which is developed by metroplex. if you go into TSM it is very different from the rest of shah alam. it was a chinese oasis back then as PKNS didn't open up to nons before they had oversupply issue in 90s. residents, shops and pasar malam all majority chinese. over built and very pack, the flood in the late 90's saw the exodus of the chinese to alam megah and USJ. since then the housing market dropped in late 90's until 00's so majority just rent out to factories to let their workers stay or local indians saw it as a way to get cheap property, then TSM become mini jakarta and lil india. they did something to the river so it was okay for many years until the recent flooding. i think the problem is upstream developments making the river shallow but since MBSA kenot find any sohai developer to dupe into footing the bill they just let it slide. titanz liked this post
