Just picked up the Xiaomi BE3600 Pro router (Xiaomi Malaysia unit with Global English firmware), and I was pleasantly surprised — it supports VLAN tagging right out of the box!



Even better, it includes pre-configured VLAN profiles for several local ISPs, which makes the setup process super easy.



If you’re looking for a budget-friendly replacement for the stock UniFi router, this one’s definitely worth considering. It’s not quite on par with ASUS routers in terms of advanced features or UI polish, but for under RM300, it really holds its own — no major complaints from me.

That said, I’m not a big fan of the Mi Router UI — it’s a bit cluttered and not the most intuitive to navigate.

saw this wifi 7 mesh also, find it quite attractive for the price. but not sure about the coverage and speed.
if not wrong, it is only a dual-band wifi router, scare if using as mesh the latency and speed etc. will be affected.

Yes, it's a two-story house, but I’ve always placed my routers centrally to ensure good coverage throughout. That’s why I haven’t needed to add another unit.

Unfortunately, the Xiaomi BE3600 Pro doesn’t quite match the coverage of my ASUS GT-AC5300 (China unit), which performs better in that regard.

i owned a two storey cluster house previously also. but i can never use one single wifi router to cover both upstair and downstair even the wifi router for the entire house, anything that further away from the wifi router, even can get the signal and can still use internet, the latency is very high...

i even use 2 x mesh units to cover both downstair and upstair but that time they were connected via wireless backhaul so latency and speed are quite bad still. if u just use it to browse the web and watching youtube etc. maybe not too bad.

if landed house, especially 2 storeys, die die also must have network points on both downstair and upstair to connect the mesh units via wired instead of wireless.

Although my house is a two-storey, it's pretty small with just two bedrooms (it's an old house in SS19, Subang Jaya). So, a single router works just fine for me.

That being said, I totally agree with you on the wireless mesh networking. I wouldn’t rely solely on wireless between nodes. I always make sure to connect them via Ethernet cables, just like I did at my in-laws' place.

I’ll also be swapping the Xiaomi router in my in-laws’ house to replace the Deco M4.

To be honest, Xiaomi's UI is pretty tough to use, and while they’re affordable, it's not up to my expectation. I’ll be replacing it with the ASUS RT-BE86U.

My AX1800 RT-AX56U perform better than this even with WiFi 7 device

But can't really complain cause it's only RM250 while RT-AX56U is like RM4XX back then

yeah.. i was looking at this wifi router as well before this. becos the price is really attractive for wifi 7.

buying new wifi 6 or 7 mesh also not cheap...

Can this work with without Unifi modem because Unifi replace my router with modem router?

No. You still need the modem
On the new modem+router all-in-one, you can just put it into bridge mode so you can still use your own router

There are routers that can fully eliminate the modem but it's not going to be cheap & it's not going to be easy
Because you need a router with an SFP port and you also need to buy an SFP module to plug into the SFP port

The router Unifi give very unstable it keep disconnect or suddenly device no internet very frequent before this never had any issue

wahh , my ax3600 still holding well to this day, If want to upgrade ,maybe will stick to xiaomi .

Surprisingly, after using the Xiaomi BE3600 Pro for a week, I don’t really miss the features from my old ASUS router. Thinking of picking up a 2 more units and linking them via Ethernet cable to boost the coverage a bit more.

By office you mean home office (your personal office at home) or an actual office?

Bought one for home use as wireless access point & mikrotik RB1100AHx2 primary router. Upgraded from Xiaomi Router AX3600 Wi-Fi 6.



Out of the box, best is setup using browser as my "Mi Home" app is set to Malaysia region. After done it is good to go.

If this is for a real office setup, you seriously need to invest in better hardware. Don’t rely on these budget options to keep things running smoothly.

Xiaomi routers don’t even have built-in antivirus or malware protection—that’s a basic feature that any office network should have. At the very least, go for something like ASUS. They offer much better performance and security.

no much budget . only support few pc .

i know got enterprise lvl of router.

btw my home usage xiamoi AX3600 too big size for office use.
