Malaysia is not free from earthquake, particularly Ranau (2015 KK 18 deaths) and Kunak (6.6 record 1923 a month before Japan Great Kanto) incident were well documented and reported.

The overall risk for peninsula remain low but critical for area with high rise residential buildings especially those north of Klang Valley sit along the KL fault line.
