- 27 March 2025 - A video recently circulated on the Internet shows that as the weather heats up in March, spontaneous combustion incidents of new energy electric vehicles increase dramatically, which has aroused widespread public concern. The batteries of new energy electric vehicles are prone to overheating in high-temperature environments, which may cause the chemical reaction inside the battery to be out of control, leading to spontaneous combustion. In addition, high temperatures may damage the battery's protection system, further increasing the risk of spontaneous combustion. According to reports, in March alone, multiple spontaneous combustion incidents of new energy electric vehicles occurred across the country, causing serious property losses and casualties. These incidents not only affect consumer confidence, but also pose challenges to the development of the new energy vehicle industry. ???

EV fire = πŸ”₯ πŸ”₯ πŸ”₯ πŸ”₯

ICE-V fire = πŸ”₯

So, EV fires is an issue, like the recent powerbank fires in aeroplanes = banned from certain places, eg underground carparks.

QUOTE(netmatrix @ Mar 29 2025, 03:55 PM)
Maybe you need to recheck those words. Who exactly is saying China is not 1st world country? I do not like how they push cars like this that is supposed to be so much better than the competing product. But it did not actually show a competing product. But specifically chooses a highly regarded product as comparison.

How about we make it simpler to understand.

Now lets say you are good at running. You get the best equipment. But you are not world champion... yet. But you are competing to be one.

Now we put you to compete against the fastest wheelchair athlete in the world, Catherine Debrunner

We also put you to compete with the fastest blind track and field runner in the world David Brown.

Now these people even though are disabled, are the best in their category. And then we put you and them in a 100m race.

If you win, you can't say it was because of their disabilities since they ARE THE BEST. They still run 100m the same as you. They have records to prove it. Remember, THEY ARE THE BEST. But you are not the best. But you can tell everyone you are the best if you made it look like you competed against the best disregarding their disability.

I do not need to hate China. I just need to hate Lei Jun. Thick faced muthafucka approving to use this kind of tactics to market a product when it never needed it at all. This kind of marketing only puts China into negativity. Which i am trying to say and demonstrate. You can't be that dumb not to see it.Β  rclxub.gif

So powerful like supercar but with affordable price tag.
If not mistaken it's 2700kg. But the acceleration walauweh. No need to spend million for a ICE supercar to experience that G Force anymore.

BYD Sealion 7 SUV: ... kerb weight = 2,200kg; ... 0-100km/h = 6.7s; ... price = from RM184k

Honda CRV 1.5 Turbo SUV: ... kerb weight = 1,600kg; ... 0-100km/h = 9s; ... price = from RM160k
.
EV car makers have purposely put in higher/heavier torque or more powerful electric motors that require larger/heavier traction batteries, in order to achieve much faster 0-100km/h acceleration, as a main selling point to "scam" or attract ICE-V car buyers to convert to EV, eg T20 folks and young trendy hipsters/speedsters.

Isn't this a waste of resources when they could have made comparable EV cars with smaller/lighter traction batteries and less powerful electric motors = lighter EV cars with similar range but lower price.?

Honda could have also done the same wasteful thing as the EV car makers by putting a heavier and more powerful 3.0 liter Turbo engine inside the Honda CRV SUV = but higher fuel consumption.

Imagine putting a jet engine inside an ICE-V car, .......

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ThrustSSC
ThrustSSC, Thrust SSC or Thrust SuperSonic Car is a British jet car developed by Richard Noble, Glynne Bowsher, Ron Ayers, and Jeremy Bliss.[1] Thrust SSC holds the world land speed record, set on 15 October 1997, and piloted by Andy Green, when it achieved a speed of 1,228 km/h (763 mph) and it became the first and only land vehicle to officially break the sound barrier. ...

That is also the BIG problem. All their previous videos with other cars did not suffer "that doctored feel" when they test cars as transparent as they did. What questions i thought off, they answered it.

But its not the same case with this one. Why need to merge 2 different ideas into 1 video that does not counter balances either is not anybody's guess. D car is all about technical aspects of the car. Half of the video is drag racing with supercars. Half of the video is talking about crash safety and comparison with same model breakdown. This does screams product promotion.

Oh..... now you want to compare price!!! Oh whatever fits the narrative ya? Back to the subject of 4 door sports sedan again. Why not an Audi and a Porsche? Far cheaper and more a direct competitor.

And then we ask why it looks so much like a Taycan? Some "engineer designer" said it was one of the most efficient design out there. But in reality Mercedes EQS has the most aerodynamically efficient design out there. Why not copy... ahem... inspired by Mercedes design to make it better since it is going to be the best?

Scamming is so easy this days.
