Guys can recommend a reputable shop that sells 12TB HDD for NAS usage... at least 2yrs warranty .. budget below RM900 if possible .. likely refurb unit..

refurb unit life span maybe even shorter than you thought, last time my company bought refurb units, all also got problem when plugging in, endup my boss cancel the deal :X

https://www.sysnapse.com/Seagate-12TB-Exos-...YoaAky2EALw_wcB

found this.

I purchased some stuff from them before.

Sysnapse is legit

do avoid most if not all of the ones on lazada/shopee that are cheap, due to them being old drives with smart data wiped to trick you into thinking its new

then when problems show up they're gone

some info

https://www.techspot.com/news/107093-scamme...tricks-try.html

For reference, it seems like roughly 1.4 to 1.5k is the new price for drives of that capacity from Toshiba

Truth is you might just need to eat the costs or get lesser capacity

I already have 2 units 12TB and 1 failed .. yes bought from Shopee and the seller MIA in terms of support... hence looking for other shops.. can be international as long they would honour warranty

actually 12TB for me way overkill ; and too expensive... but since already bought before.. its a waste going lower capacity..lets see if this MONO DIGITAL truly give me a new unit with 3 yrs warranty.

Mono Digital should be legit (confirm it is them)

They used to be more commonly seen on Shopee back in the before 2020 days, but they kinda sorta faded away

They are around but prices & deals not competitive.

they cancelled my order.. claim out of stock...

i guess its pricing error..

anyway I ended up order from seagate flagship store 2x6TB ironwolf..

effectively I'm getting 18TB storage with redundancy

(2x6TB + 1x12TB) ; the 12tb will act as 2 virtual 6tb under SHR (I hope so)

Sorry. U new to IT??

Single unit 12T HDD???

worse idea

All egg in 1 bag

4x4tb cheaper, much faster, raid 5, even 1 HDD failed, data still preserved

I have 2x12tb .. 1 failed.. the failed replace to 2x6tb
