Time travel through the Nestlé story

Come on a journey through Nestlé's company history. We'll begin in 1866 and finish in the present day.

Along the way, we'll see why Henri Nestlé created infant cereal, how the company weathered downturns and two world wars.

We'll follow the acquisitions and the move into chocolate, pharmaceuticals and petcare.

The world's largest food and beverage company

How Henri Nestlé started the Nestlé we know today
Led by a sense of scientific innovation, Henri Nestlé kickstarted a small food business in 1867.

150 years later that business is the world’s largest food and beverage company. And Henri’s legacy continues to shape the business today.

Compared to Nestlé Malaysia, Nestlé Indonesia has more products. They also have animal food products.

Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad is not owned by hedge funds. The company's largest shareholder is Nestlé S.A., with ownership of 72.61%.

With such a huge stake in the ownership, we infer that they have significant control of the future of the company.

Employees Provident Fund of Malaysia is the second largest shareholder owning 6.64 % of common stock.

On December 7, 2021, Nestlé agreed to sell 22.26 million L'Oréal shares to L'Oréal. L'Oréal will cancel the repurchased shares.

Following the transaction, Nestlé will own 20.1% of L'Oréal and remains fully supportive of the company's value creation strategy.

Nestlé will retain its two positions on the L'Oréal Board of Directors.

Nestlé unveils world’s largest Milo factory in Malaysia

Sep 25, 2019

Nestlé today launched its expanded Chembong factory in Malaysia, now the largest Milo factory in the world. A 30% capacity increase will meet expanding domestic demand and exports to over 20 countries for Milo, the world’s leading chocolate malt beverage.

The Chembong factory started operations in 1993 and it currently employs the largest workforce among the six Nestlé factories in Malaysia. Varieties produced in the factory include regular Milo and Milo 3-in-1.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Chris Johnson, Executive Vice President and CEO of Zone Asia, Oceania and sub-Saharan Africa, said: "Malaysia is a key market for Nestlé globally and a key manufacturing hub in our Asian region.

This expansion is testament to our drive to ensure strong, profitable and sustainable growth, in tandem with our commitment to continue investing in Malaysia as a key manufacturing hub for the Nestlé Group.

Since 1971, the Batu Tiga Factory has been a cornerstone of Nestlé’s operations in Malaysia.

54 years old !!!!!

Producing over 2.5 million packs of Maggi noodles each day, it exports products to ***** more than 20 countries**********, including South-east Asia, Australia, the United Kingdom, and South Korea. ***************

I didn't boycott them, but I just happen to not buying those brands above in recent years.

Consume before or buy before for sure yes, but just recent years didn't consume these.

Example Instant noodle I bough Nissin recently

Chocolate Malt I bought Ovaltine recent years

Consumers can’t weed nestle product out;

they’ll just buy the next popular brand.

Ingredients should not be control or all supplied by nestle...

Didn't buy any of their product except Nespray.

In the old days, the US had antitrust laws to prevent companies from being too huge and to stop any monopoly.

Now, everything is consolidated into a few hands only, scary.

Better support our own local brand and SEA countries brand if possible.

I always told people that M&As never benefitted the customer or employees, only shareholders.

It's now to the point they have to create the illusion of choice for consumers

Only product I still use is Nescafe, Milo and Maggi.

Nowadays a lot of other competition for coffee and instant noodles.

Only Milo I feel like can't really find an alternative yet.
