people actually follow these battery test thing? its almost impossible to quantify it properly given how different users have different use cases

i have a friend who claimed his phone can last 3 days with single charge. turns out then his use case for the phone is practically nothing, just internet browsing and some IM.

while another friend of mine kept complain his phone battery cacat la whatnot. but he run games every time even if idling and leave it at background

Doesn't change the fact that both of your friends will get worse battery life in iphone 16e compared to 16.

i dont doubt that longer battery life = better but the issue is so personalised, no?

like you could argue by GSMarena's metric that its bad. but to average smartphone user these metrics are useless cause it doesnt symbolise what they actually do

look at iphone SE which uses the stupid small ass capacity ip8 battery size, its outright outrageous by today's standards but the device is still widely used by people worldwide

So what's your suggestion? What can they do to improve the test?

Battery aside, iPhone 16e isn’t worth it.
Might as well get iPhone 15 or 15pro.

you cant, its like me trying to get you to like sambal petai when you are a sambal sotong lover. not to say GSMarena didnt do their best to be as controlled in their tests to all variety of users, just the control is not 100% accurate nia

so for me these tests are a metric you can follow to see how long the device can theoretically last based on their presumed use case, but not 100% rely on it as a guide on how well the device would perform on a variety of people's use case

I think most if not all users use these metrics to compare the battery life between different phone models, instead of rely on it's absolute value.

yes correct, and it shall remain as such

but to argue that 16e has "bad battery life" is such a misnomer however. cause to be frank, based on my use case i can never reach these tests estimated battery life also. phone out of juice by 3/4 of the day
