BESUT: Permintaan tinggi dan lokasi perniagaan strategik mendorong seorang peniaga menjual 113 jenis air balang pelbagai perisa di tujuh lot tapak Bazar Ramadan Kuala Besut, sini.

Suriane Abdullah, 29, berkata, jumlah jenis air yang ditawarkan itu meningkat kepada lebih 30 perisa berbanding yang dijual pada Ramadan tahun lalu bagi memberi lebih banyak pilihan kepada pelanggan.

Katanya, antara menu air yang dijual ialah 40 balang air berperisa, 50 jenis perisa air kocok, tujuh jenis air boba, lapan jenis air float, lima jus air buah, air laici kang, cendol dan cendol campur laici kang.

“Saya mengambil risiko kerana jumlahnya boleh dikatakan paling banyak berbanding peniaga air lain di bazar Ramadan sekitar daerah ini.

“Bagaimanapun berbekalkan semangat dan lokasi strategik yang diperoleh tahun ini, saya tetap menambah bilangan air yang dijual dan Alhamdulillah sambutannya memberangsangkan,” katanya ketika ditemui di Bazar Ramadan Kuala Besut, semalam.

Menurut Suriane sejak awal Ramadan lalu, dia sudah menjual kira-kira 3,000 cawan air sehari termasuk dalam bungkusan plastik.

Katanya, sebanyak 200 kilogram gula digunakan setiap hari untuk membuat air tersebut dan ia dimasak terlebih dahulu sebelum dibancuh.

“Bagi memastikan tahap kebersihannya terjamin, air dan gula dimasak terlebih dahulu untuk mengelakkan berlaku keracunan dan cirit birit.

“Selain itu, air yang dijual dipastikan habis setiap hari dan tidak disimpan lama kerana setiap hari air baru dibancuh. Sekiranya jualan tidak habis saya mengagihkannya kepada pengunjung bazar atau ke masjid berdekatan untuk orang ramai berbuka puasa,” katanya.

Katanya, dengan jualan lebih 100 jenis air itu, pendapatan hariannya meningkat tujuh kali ganda berbanding jualan hari biasa sehingga mencecah RM7,000 sehari. – UTUSAN

Not bad, 7k per day. Most small enterprise don't even make that much in one day. She should set up a sendirian berhad with that income so she cannot elak cukai from lhdn ohwaii .

That stall in pix looks like has about 10 staff there. I wonder whats the salary like?

8 cups per minute
1 cup every 8 seconds
non-stop for 6 hours straight

that is some crazy sales volume for ONE temporary drink stall

and chances are, there are plenty of competitor drink stalls in that bazaar alone
there is like someone selling balang drinks in every 5-10 stalls

assuming this particular stall garner 10% of the entire drink sales
that's like 30,000 cups PER DAY sold from this one bazaar alone
but not everyone will buy drinks. so let's say only 75% of all customer buy a drink
meaning that there is at least a foot traffic of 40,000 people

if the stall have a 5% of all drink sales
then the estimated foot traffic would be at least 80,000 people coming and going
from this 1 bazaar alone

i think 1Utama would not have this many shopper even on super busy day

looks like at least 5 staff per stall.. so total up, 35 staff and lets say she is paying by the day, so RM80 for one day, it will be RM2800 per day and RM84k for a month.

Don’t forget 5 figure rent per stall.. and additional angpao per staff.

2 booths at each location, meaning 2K x 7 locations. thats 14K.
average 8 workers at each location (look at photo, have 8 people working) meaning 2K x 8 people x 7 locations. thats 112K.

so profit is RM150K - 112K - 14K = 24K
this still hasnt minus the cost of goods.
if she can get higher average sales and cut down her staff numbers, can get more money.

Last time in pasarmalam when bubble/boba tea was not mainstream yet, seeing the dozens of colorful powders in containers stacked on the table made me wanna catch eeer try em all. (but end up buying the mint flavor most of the time).


Luckily I outgrown this and knew better what not to buy for my own children.

yeah.
i know a guy who works for only a month supplying kuih to hotels for berbuka, then rests for the rest of the year, doing umrah and other things.
tapi kuih dia memang sedap and nicely packed, kenot remember what it was, but different than other known local kuih.
