Now if you are talking about AI chips fully made in Malaysia? Thats a pipe dream. We have no advanced fabs. Good luck with Silterra's 100nm process node

Silttera doesnt have anything below 100nm. And they they have 0 expertise in HPC logic and SRAM libraries design and manufacturing.

And semiconductor is not his expertise. He is relying on his advisors also. Probably a bunch of government advisors thought we have Intel and AMD here means we can design our own chip including compute from scratch

There are already a few startups designing IC chips since early last year

The project was leaded by Pua Khein-Seng, the inventor of usb flash drive

Last year they offered RM6k+ for fresh graduates in IC design

Don't look down at our new gens, especially type c

brother designing chips for IO / memory / storage is different vs designing an entire chip including compute cores for AI. IO/memory/storage yes la we have the expertise. We been doing USB/PCIE/SATA/Ethernet/Chip Interconnect/DDR/SRAM/Memory designs here thanks to Intel and Altera starting their design operations here since 20 years ago. But critical compute IPs? We have very limited to 0 expertise.

The door is always opened for the good one with expertise in vhdl or verilog

Somemore they never said they gonna build it from scratch or to build the best AI chip in the world
