Hi everyone,

I recently switched service providers from Maxis to Unifi, and they provided me with the Skyworth Combo AX3000.

However, I’ve noticed that this combo box heats up easily, and the dual-band speed is extremely slow. I’m only getting around 30 Mbps to 60 Mbps when connected to the 2.4GHz band. vmad.gif

I’m considering using my leftover TM ZTE modem (ZXHN F620) along with an Asus router, instead of using the combo box in bridge mode with the Asus router. brows.gif

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to work after connecting the TM ZTE modem to the Asus router and configuring the PPPoE settings. cry.gif

My question is: is it mandatory to use the Skyworth Combo AX3000 in bridge mode with the Asus router? icon_question.gif

There are conversations in the main thread but

the problem is you need to configure the ZTE Modem
Usually, you need to set the PLOAM ID and maybe SN as well

The Unifi may have locked it with MAC Address (from Skyworth AX3000). Even though you managed to configured the PPPoE settings correctly, because Unifi only allow approved MAC address to initiate the connection. You may need to call Unifi and request them to "Unlock" or you may need to furnish them the new MAC Address from your ZTE Modem. Or just tell them you have replaced the Modem/Router. tongue.gif

Hope this helps... cool2.gif

I have been using the Skyworth AX3000 in bridge mode and I've no problem so far, no heating up. So I guess what you can do is to contact support and ask for their help to setup the Skyworth in bridge mode.

This is one of the easiest box to change lol
Take the POLAM serial and pwd
Phone verifications related info (use inspect element fuction from your browser)
Get a huawei HG8240h5 unifi version, key everything in and you have a n ONU to replace that combo box
The reason for using HG8240H5 is, you can change the serial number of the ONU to the same serial of the combo box

Since you move from Maxis to Unifi (I did last year 2023 to Unifi Ultra).
The PLOAM Password is changed even same address
You just need change PLOAM Password on your ZTE ONU
and plug LAN 1 for the Internet

GPON is Layer 2.5 and not using MAC Address, instead using Vendor Serial Number (ZTEG/HWTC/ALCL/FHTT) alongside PLOAM/ONU Password for PON Authentication

I'm using Skyworth combo box 2.5G black colour as bridge mode with Asus as my main router but I never noticed any heating issue so far or speed drops

Try to contact Unifi or if you have installer number (should he called before arrive your home) try to call them they will assist you.
I recently changed from D link combo to Skyworth combo after requesting to Unifi
