For base model ipad Gen 9 below, A16 (Gen 11) is quite a jump. Ram pun up, storage pun up, chip pun up.

This A16 should replace my A14 nicely & don't burn pocket. Without Apple Ai it won't eats much storage space of 128gb.

Absolutely right, the storage very important especially 128gb which is need to be careful as the storage lesser then others 🐼™️

for me, i find that 128gb is sufficient. even for those ipad models support apple intelligence.

if u are using ipad to just supplement ur iphone in terms of entertainment like video streaming or casual gaming, 128gb should be sufficient.

but if u want to save a lot of videos for offline viewing and really do a lot of productivity work like photo or video editing, of course the more data the merrier.

for me, i opt for 128gb becos it is the cheapest and can meet my needs. can save the cost for next ipad purchase.

I just bought ipad air m1 for RM1.5k.. try hunt in shopee for raya deal.. no reason to buy the base ipad if you can get one with M1 for same price. All the processing goodness and sure will last longer. Good luck hunting 😎

may I know which shop you buy from? I just checked shopee and ipad air m1 5th gen is nowhere near that price at all. Currently selling 2.1k to 2.2k cheapest during sale and is still getting that measly 64gb which is crazy for paying 2k+. Also, ipad air has inferior battery life compared to the base ipad.

I just checked again and seems most already gone. Can see one in screenshot attached, that is cellular model priced at rm2.1k, I’ve seen the same shop sell it lower few days ago. As cellular model is several hundreds pricier, so you can imagine the non-cellular model should be approaching 1.5k mark.. there were a bunch of cheaper options several days ago. Plus coupons and coins if you have, will bring down price a bit more. Probably keep an eye on shopee if they re-appear

Yeah 64gb is on a low side, but depends on your usage, to me i think its enough. Most things are on icloud. As for battery life, not sure but Apple stated similar run time for both ipads.

Several win factors for ipad air to me:
1. Laminated display. If you use pencil much, you’ll appreciate this as no gap in screen when you write
2. M1 processor and 8gb ram, compared to A16 and 4gb ram, obviously night and day comparison. Can easily throw anything to it
3. Magic keyboard and apple pencil 2 supported on ipad air, not on base ipad
4. Apple AI.

But I pulled the trigger simply because it was cheap lol, otherwise the base ipad still a worthy tablet for its price

*Maybe it's due to : M1 & M2 are a 5nm chip. And also M-series are designed for desktop & laptop.

My usage is not much, just that its not worth buying 64gb device anymore. It cant even be upgraded.

The display doesnt bother me as it is a media streaming device for most of the time, no usage of pencil as well. A16 with 6gb ram is plenty for a 1.5k device and does 95% of what every users need. Those accessories are so expensive which I would never buy or use. Apple AI..... until now I also dont know what is so good about this. I have the iPhone 16 and never enabled Apple AI, I only bought it because my 64gb iphone not enough storage.

Overall, I guess the base ipad is the most worth it and bang for buck. Of course, if the iPad Air is that cheap, would consider it as well.

Ya true2, actually the ipad 11th is worth its price. I was looking to buy either ipad mini 7th or the ipad, but stumbled upon shopee sale so since the price is similar i just grabbed the air.

Yes I think most probably will get this Gen 11/ A16, becos primary use is for cycling app.

I bought the Dux Ducis Domo casing, been using it for other family ipads as well. Texture feels good.

Case is the same as 10th gen ipad.

indeed. at least go for 64GB, i never keep much stuff on my ipad (128gb) and never take pictures/videos also only left with less than 50GB...

My iphone 128gb still hv around 40+gb while never bother saving space, I take random pictures, with years of data transferred through generations of iphones. Actually Photos usually taking below 5gb space as most of it are in icloud. On my phone, whatsap taking most of space almost 50gb. Not sure what clogging your ipad haha

Vs 128gb with various lacking capabilities in ipad 11th. At similar price to me its a no brainer.. the processor especially, its strange ipad 11 is the only apple device left out for the AI. Yeah apple still failed to deliver AI, but imagine moving forward all OS and apps are bound around AI, this ipad will be dated very fast

Actually Apple AI doesn’t matter much to me, the ultra glaring ipad 10 glass really bothering me a lot and I have to return it

Non laminated already dimmed down the display a lot, plus the ultra glaring ipad 10 dimmed down the display further more…

Pls pay full attention to the screen when u buy then …u can’t tell from an Apple Store try hold and turn the screen to feel its glaring…

for phone, i hardly clean up photos inside, but i only keep photos with human objects inside. the rest of photos, normally i just upload to my facebook and deleted away.

i had been getting bigger iphone years to years, from 128gb to 256gb to 512gb now. 512gb left less than 50gb now. and this is due to the fact that i had achieved the videos to portable hardisk.

i dun prefer to use icloud. instead i would rather spend the money for bigger storage which is the same in long run.

for my 128gb ipad, most things occupied it not photos/videos taking (becos as mentioned i seldom do it)
mostly some movies/musics i put inside the ipad for offline viewing purpose in the event of no internet like taking flights etc. if clean them up willl not occupy that much.

No Ai no probs for ayam. The lesser it occupies the storage & uses lesser battery the better. Lol
Glossy screen ayam use the matte type SP.

It is also a bit not nice to write on non-laminated screen using pencil, can see clear gap between pencil tip and where the writing actually appeared on the screen

I also wonder if iPad 11th can use stage manager mode? I’m loving it, using it since i got my ipad. Especially when using app that was not designed for ipad, I can make the app smaller, so not seeing the overblown app displayed. stage manager also nice when connecting to external display, can make extended display instead of screen mirroring. Almost feel like using a Mac

Ayam almost made up my mind for the A16.
M3 just too high tech for Ayam daily meagre usage. The laminated screen really tempt me to switch over.
