Username and password login pops up upon clicking on it.
i can't even disable the login step even after unticking the "user must enter a username and password to use this computer" and yet after restarting i still need to login.

really frustrating

This security feature is intentionally difficult to disable, as Microsoft designed it that way.

To make things easier, you can add a fingerprint sensor or a webcam with a built-in infrared sensor to enable Windows Hello. This allows you to log in using either your fingerprint or facial recognition.

However, not all webcams support infrared for Windows Hello, so be sure to check the specs before purchasing. I recommend the Lenovo Performance FHD Webcam as a solid option.

One limitation of facial recognition login is that you can’t register multiple faces for a single account. If multiple people share the computer, a fingerprint sensor is the better choice, as Windows Hello allows up to 10 fingerprints to be registered per account.

I have tested just now, I removed my fingerprint and PIN and restarted .. but my password remains intact (permanently cannot change / remove) and the only way I think that you have to use LOCAL ACCOUNT and quit from Microsoft Account logon smile.gif

You can also add a USB fingerprint sensor as a simple and affordable solution. It’s a one-time investment that makes logging in easier while keeping your system secure.

A decent USB fingerprint sensor costs less than RM100, making it a budget-friendly option worth considering.

However, if this is a public-use computer, using a local account would be the better approach.

I was offering an option to the thread starter since he's using a desktop PC. Most modern laptops already have a built-in fingerprint sensor, so that’s not an issue.

However, it's quite rare on desktop PCs, even with pre-built systems from Lenovo, Dell, and others.

Windows 11 is meant for Cloud support, you cannot remove credentials .. unless you run the Windows as Local Account and disconnect the Microsoft Account smile.gif
