What easy way you want? This is USA Visa, not Malaysia Visa got jalan one nudge, nudge, wink, wink, just senyum sinis.

Go the website, make your application according to the instructions. Make sure you have all the supporting documents and evidencs, even down to your mader fader birth dates. Arrange the interview, and hope you are given the Visa.

There is no other way for a normal tourist visa to USA.

The correct answer would be

"Follow instructions as requested"

This. Follow the exact steps.

I just did in Dec last year. Once the application submitted and fees paid, I scheduled for an interview.
Turn up to the embassy an hour before the time following the exact instruction given. No electronic, big bags and so on.
Went in for the interview, follow the queue as instructed, and answered exactly 3 questions;

1. Which state are you visiting?
2. What is the purpose of the visit?
3. Who is funding this visit?

Total of 45 seconds interview. The officer informed "approved" and passport will be ready for collection/delivery immediately once answered all the questions.
Interview time at 8am and out of embassy at 820am.

Like seriously, stop that bunch of trolling nonsense in a serious thread. It wasnt that way i meant this thread for.

What i meant the easy way is, instead of go cracking my head all over the net for answers, i can easily get the answers here from the experienced ones on the exact steps to do they have done this before, it makes my life more easier to go thru it.

Make sure a had return ticket, hotel reservations doc, if go like Disneyland.. get ticket ready first

Prep this if TS has this in mind.

Immigration officer still can deny TS masuk even have b2 b1 visa

You need to prove yourself has intention to return and not like others intention not to go back

You google for "USA visa" and the very first result is the official embassy website. On that website everything is given to you: the steps you need to take, the documents you need, the process, the waiting time, the length of your visa, what you need to do and don't. Everything is explained to you.

You ask here you get someone saying "make sure a had return ticket" which the website specifically cautions you NOT to do. So which do you follow?

You say the other threads are about renewal, but I know that most threads have been about their first time. I also have posted my experience with my name having First, Middle and Last using Taylor Swift (Middle name Alison) as my example of what to expect in the interview.

So you call my post trolling, which is fine. But at least be honest with yourself about why you started the thread la.

Just follow what is stated on the website for the process and instructions. Only get the personal experience from within this forum.

But I can tell you that I have heard stories from a friend of a friend, they said that they heard of someone who got their visa application rejected. But I personally, nor any of my family and friends, have been rejected. I think as long as you are not a criminal, have the funds and can prove a link back to Malaysia like owning a house, have a job, parents still around, you won't be rejected. Heck, I've never married, no kids, at the right age to overstay, working in the industry easy to get employed in USA and I still got my visa approved! And they were right, because I have visited 3 times already over the last 10 years, and have never done anything illegal there or overstayed.

But I can't say for sure for you, because I'm not embassy staff. You just have to follow the instructions with your backing documents and apply. No other way about that.

This finally made sense to me why people sit in the park in the afternoon after I visited that first time laugh.gif

Edit to add : You must have a plan of what you want to do if they ask you in the interview, but don't buy any tickets yet.

You can get flight itinerary from any travel agency. The ticket is on hold and not ticketed (upon complete payment). Just present that be sufficient. The 'on hold' ticket will lapse by certain days

I got my US tourist visa 2 years back

Basically just follow what the website require to the teeth.

i got my employment letter, bank statement, utility bills, car grant etc

do not book flight tickets as that is not a guarantee that you will get.

on the day of interview, just answer all truthfully but that depends on the officer in charge. luckily for me they only ask like 1-2 questions.

the lady besides me wasnt too lucky as i overheard and they had to convince the officer that they're coming back until the showed the utility bills under her name and that even took some convincing to the officers

If you can speak fluent English, it will not be a problem. Usual question such as what are you going to do there, where do you plan to visit, return flights, what do you do for a living, any relatives there etc.

Isn't it working as expat in the US has different sorts of questions and even tougher? My colleague got transferred there 2 years ago. The company cover legal fees and and have a lawyer to do all the paperwork and drill some interview questions, something like you need to justify to the custom why US team need to hire you from malaysia rather than hire the locals.

Yeap, questions asked for mine mainly why do they need to hire you? What's your role specialty that what local unable to do?

But yeah, as i am in Solar manufacturing plant, in order for them to legally use us as cheap labour in the states they sent us over dry.gif

But on the bright side, got chance to come to US which is not everyone has the chance to do so. So i am quite grateful. Planning to stay here long term for now, will have to start searching for ways to stay put now.

Malaysia is a small country and the embassy is usually very familiar with all the usual suspects applying for work permit under Blanket L1.
Usually no major questions, did mine twice under Blanket L1 and all pretty much stamp stamp.

edit for clarity: In the old days, US MNCs used to send ppl over to the US for product transfers, usually between 1-6 months duration under B1 visa. Then immigration said thats illegal as they're technically working etc, so most were forced to change to L1 visas, which is a 3+2 dual intent work permit visa. So the embassy in KL doesnt really differentiate between those actually going over for permanent work assignment vs those going for short term work 3/6/9/12 months. So to them is, oh this person is from XYZ company, pretty much auto approve L1.
