What books would you recommend for this? I have decided to pursue game design and development. I want to someday make my own game engine like Godot Engine or RPG Maker, but before that, I am going to make a few lengthy RPG's first. Between Godot and RPG Maker, which is better at making RPG's. I know RPG Maker is so streamlined for 2d RPG, but it has a lot of hardcoded limitations. Maybe Godot?

Any goods, and resources you might want to recommend me?

I was suggested by some folks to use C# and Visual Studio Community. What do you think of that?

RPG Maker using JavaScript, HTML5, and Ruby,
Godot is using GDScript, C#, and C++.

I will suggest to start with the language that you familiar first.
For your case, since your end goal is to create your own engine, so that you have to study both game engines or even more.
Now you just need to move the first step smile.gif enjoy

I started with RPG Maker years ago because it was simple, and it helped me finish a small game. But eventually I switched to Godot since I wanted more control. The learning curve was steeper, but it felt worth it, especially once I realized how much I could tweak and customize without being locked down.

Does anyone know why GDI+ doesn't have SetPixel function? Only old GDI has SetPixel function.
