Looking for a cheap phone, but must be long lasting. Currently using a Xiaomi phone which has been with me for 4 years, previously got screen issue after the 3 years mark, now almost dead, constant freezing every hour or so.

What other brands are both cheap and long lasting? Should I stay with Xiaomi, or move to other brands?

Among Vivo, Oppo and Honor, which one the most long lasting? Never used any of them before.

If it is cheap...it won't be long-lasting.

You should be prepared to invest around RM2k to RM2.5k for a mid-range smartphone.

Otherwise...if lower than that it is not worth it.

I suggest Honor.

2k? I was only planning to go for something less than 1k, 1k may be my max budget.

I don't really care about specs, just cheap and long lasting, is that too much to ask for?

Yea, thought of Samsung too, but family used Samsung before, both low end and high end Samsung, and spoiled pretty fast, not sure their way of usage though.

If china phone, only honor and huawei. Others especially xiaomi family, can throw to rubbish bin.

Meanwhile my faithful redmi note 10 pro from early 2021 is still working normally. only had to change new battery at xiaomi repair centre last year.

but all the same it pays to be informed and prepared just in case...have shortlisted the redmi note 14 (non pro) which should be quite ok for my simple needs and light usage.

Yea, before the current one, previously I also had another Xiaomi, lasted for 5 years, and was still good, I only changed because that time wanted a newer phone. But their quality seems pretty inconsistent, since my current Xiaomi got spoiled pretty fast.

Cannot go wrong with honor. Was and still a Xiaomi user. Not anymore after my current phone. Just waiting for it to die.

I seen my mother using honor phone, so long still ok. I think 4y+ and no bloatware Vs Xiaomi.
