Or, since I don't think you're climbing the mountain, do check out the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park where you can either just relax at the beach or go snorkelling/diving and other activities. To get there, just catch a ferry from Point Jesselton in the KK City Centre.
Ferry tickets are around RM18++ return (I think) for adults, cheaper for children and students. Depends on the island you want to go to. There are many islands to choose from, but I heard Sapi is good for snorkelling. I went to Mamutik, which wasn't really that good. But the fishes and corals there are still decent.
Besides that, the usual. Shopping, eating etc.
