anyone can advise me on how to bring seafood from KK to Semenanjung? I plan to bring over a box of seafood in checked baggage but now im worried they will not allow that sad.gif

There's a new policy regarding Carriage of fresh and/or frozen seafood

Effective 1 July 2016, Malaysia Airlines will not accept all fresh and/or frozen seafood as checked baggage. However, such items may be accepted as cabin baggage subject to the destination’s quarantine regulations, provided that they are properly packed and meet the cabin baggage weight and size requirements.

If dry ice is used to carry these items in cabin baggage, a maximum of 2.5kg of dry ice per passenger is permissible. Malaysia Airlines reserves the right to refuse carriage at its sole and absolute discretion if the items are not properly packed.

Is there anybody here recently brought in seafood from KK? *crossed fingers*

to update everyone here, I did bring home seafood from KK on MAS last Saturday. I had the market people packed it nicely. Went to market at 3.30 am, my flight was at 5.55 am. So I went to the airport right after the market. Didnt bother to repack. Got back home at around 10.30-ish and the ice havent melted much.

But a friend of mine who went to the market with me but return with 10.45 am flight needed to repack the box at the airport.

Oh I did try to check the box in, but the staff told me to hand carry the box due to the new policy. Luckily I only brought home a small box, and not so heavy, just in case.

Went to SAFMA market in KK nearby the phillipines market. But the locals told me seafood are even better in Tawau. Price wise, of course very good if u compare to EM. Got myself scallops for RM8/kg . I havent seen fresh scallops here in Klang market so somewhat jakun hahaha bought so much but donno wat to do do with it. But I was most excited with the fresh prawns priced at RM26/kg for XL size. I used to buy M sized prawns for RM29/kg in Klang market, so yeah, I was very much greedy.
