Upon completion, paste this folder in the same location as new Phone with WhatsApp installed WITHOUT login in first. After finishing transfering, only then you login and WhatsApp will search cloud / local backup. It should recover everything. The transfer is long because the number of files is large. What you can do is to compress or zip the Whatsapp folder first, then do the transfer of the zipped file, then unzip at the new device. To me mainly to keep history of business, families and important chat. I have 4GB+ history just from my wife with more years to come lol. Text msg don't eat up much storage, but it's the documents and media that took up the space. But when you have too many at once, there is no easy way to select which to keep and which to delete.
