Cos Samsung is using subpar components inside their Fons during MCO, remember the Note 7 hand grenade, they started using subpar battery cells that catches fire if too hot or used for too long. Caught red handed but refused to admit untill there's too many cases unable to sweep under the carpet only then Samsung recall all the Note 7

Err .. actually note 7 fiasco is because of oversized battery in a undersized battery compartment , not because of QC

i remember my note series that i use for long time until the phone hancur also never have the green line issues , until my S22plus and it happen , my fren de s20+ also greenline.

What i believe is it started when samsung make the screen more thin bazel for the phone , as u know the thinner the bazel , mean the contruction will be more weak , so anything heat up or drop might easily cause the component break down. So for those dont fall / water damage , most of time they get the light saber after updated the phone , because during updating , the phone will heat up and might be this reason the LINE component break down and causes light saber.

That why u notice alot of ppl making joke putting the phone in freeze during updating , or put in front of air-conditional  biggrin.gif
People getting pissy off because china thin bazel screen rarely face this kind of issues , but for samsung phone  , the chance is very very high , so either samsung have to solve the heat issues during updating (maybe can throttle down the speed of upgrading so the phone doesnt heat up that much) , or improve with new technology to make the bazel more stronger.
Like the Vivo x90 pro series using samsung E6 display also often kena light saber , but vivo steady , a 3-4year old phone stil able to get free replacement screen without question biggrin.gif

Yeah it's true that flexible oled with narrow bottom bezel easier to have light saber or worse white screen issues because flex ribbon is much more sensitive to heat and impact

There are few of true solutions
1. Starting with S25 series (and selected a series from a55 onwards) finally implemented seamless updates which not required rebooting into bootloader and wait for updates to be installed. With seamless updates, update is installed in separate system partition before reboot (requires a/b partition, cannot back port into older phones)

2. New display materials starting with s24 series (higher brightness at lower battery draw and heat output, but sacrifices the viewing angle due to micro lens technology)

3. Cpu with good enough efficiency which will not heat up during system updates or high brightness

Try with s21/s22 series then you will know how horrible it heats up in many situations including updating system

Both using stupid SoC snapdragon 888 and 8gen1 that design by Samsung , battery drain and phone heat like no tomorrow.

I remember xiaomi 11 was the first phone to use the snapdragon 888 , ended up u see the phone got so high chance to burn the motherboard due to the heat 🤦 , after this case , only china phone starting with those cooling system and cooling VC system , at least they control the 8gen1 heat better , that two year , snapdragon soc really ruins by Samsung chip designer team 🤦 , really god bless it now back to TSMC.

That's what Samsung says, if indeed the battery is oversized, how does it fit inside the small & cramp space of a Fon ? Fon components are perfectly sized to each millimeters impossible the battery can be oversized like Samsung says. Wondering what actually is Samsung trying to hide.

Nah Samsung battery tech is quite conservative after that. That's why s25 edge ultra slim model is with laughably 3900mah battery

More to shitty Samsung fab because yield rate was poor. Middle of 8 gen 1 lifespan Qcom make a promptly switch to tsmc with 8+ gen 1 and somehow improvement in efficiency can be seen

really bro , the 8gen1+ by TSMC directly can see different on battery consumption , mean that samsung dont know how to tuning the chip , and the 8gen2 by TSMC really like day & night compared to 8gen1 by samsung shakehead.gif

one of the reason they did not publish their source code nowadays. last time when they release their source code. we can adjust their kernel to be sooo efficient which make custom firmware work fine than official.

Ok so according to Samsung oversized battery is causing the Note 7 to become hand grenade, I wonder what they will say about the OLED light sabre affecting S series ?
