if you never ever need to touch the money sitting in FD for next 20/30 years, then consider either to throw them into EPF or just buy the major banks in Malaysia like Maybank or cimb or public.... not a investment advice, but sharing alternatives...

For you to get passive income that is significant enough to sustain yourself, you need to seek for the initial capital that is big enough first. So the real problem is how to earn that initial capital

AlWarda, if you have an Android phone and/ or a desktop/ laptop, you could check my signature on installing some passive income apps for a modest yet sustainable beermoney. Already earned over $100 without doing anything, can already drink some nice kopi For investments, diversify into crypto (avoid most if not all shitcoins), dividend paying stocks/ ETF and EPF for long term. Apart from Honeygain which I know will share our internet connection Mainly via ads and branding sponsorships. They're free to use but when claiming rewards or navigating the apps, there are ads injected or loaded for you to watch. Assuming you have RM5k salary. You put just RM2k into EPF every month (excluding amount from employer and decisions), for 30 years at 5%p.a you will have RM1.5m even if you start with 0 amount inside KWSP. Even with RM1500, you will also make it there. https://www.investor.gov/financial-tools-ca...rest-calculatorPlay around with the numbers and you will see that I am right. Park your funds in REITs when they are not in use. Once you get the dividend, reinvest and maintain discipline. Compounding effect and should able to taste it in 5 years time

FD - 3.5-3.7% (Promotion rate) REIT and bank stock - 5-7% EPF - 5-6% Stock market - 10-20% per year
FD and EPF no need to do homework, REIT, bank stock and stock market u need to spend time to understand the market, isn't easy but over the years u will learn a lot from it.
