Happy new year folks

Considering to setup a regular schedule for me and my wife to take vaccines.

Based on my research, usually people take Influenza vaccines every year. Also considering to take covid vaccines regularly, but very little research available online (even less so for Malaysia context).

Just to seek second opinions from people here - what vaccines do you take regularly?

Why need to take yearly vaccine? What's the logic? I can understand if you work in high risk places like hospital, food processing...but for regular folks...need meh?

Lol, macam vaccine salesman je, in Malaysia we don't have such culture, only U.S have, that's why they are no.1 in food allergies, no.1 in autoimmune disease and autism.

Not decided to take yearly vaccine yet, still considering hence the research and getting second opinions here.

On your question - I believe vaccine should be updated from time to time, but I might be wrong. Will need to research more on vaccine efficacy on mutations.

Not promoting vaccine - just researching.

And agree with you, Malaysia dont have such culture, but I am surprised when I google online, that US population are getting vaccines every year.

Okay, I leave it here...

Even the traditional vaccine requires trial and error before it becomes safe for general public use.

Actually it is quite known for a long time, most autoimmune are caused by vaccines.

Simple explanation is the use of peanut own protein as some sort of delivery module for the near dead bacteria pathogens.

Then, the body immune system automatically flags the pathogens and the peanut protein as a potential hazard to your body

Hence, autoimmunity and food allergies problems arise from the body mistakenly associating the pathogens with other components the vaccine introduced to the body.

But I think they discover that by accident, so it is contained in America, land of high autoimmunity and food allergies problems.

Hepatitis vaccine. Check your antibodies level every 3 years or so. If drop then jab.

Generally:
a) Yearly Influenza Vaccine (either Trivalent or Quadrivalent)
- regardless you are high risk occupation or not (ie: hospital etc..)
- as common exposures are from community (ie : crowded public transport, crowded malls etc.)
- reduces the severity of disease in the event contracting it.
- Do it to protect yourself + family + elderly parents and especially young children (ie Infants)

b) Pneumoccocal Vaccine (PCV13 or PPV23)
- generally protection against bacterial infections ie mainly pneumoccocal disease and few other organisms.
- for high risk individuals (ie : Immunocompromised, Chemotherapies, Malignancies) as well as susceptible to higher Respiratory ailments (ie : COAD, Bronchiectasis etc..)
- 5-yearly renewal
- for heatlhy adults - optional, up to you

c) COVID vaccination - additional boosters
- no need lah. give a pass. already herd immunity

d) Others/Misc:
- Thyphoid - if in F&B
- Hepatitis B - if in healthcare, bloodborne and bodily fluids exposure frequently, high risk promiscuity lifestyles etc..
- Hepatitis A - for food borne disease - not overly common here.save your money
- Meningococcal - Prevention mainly Meningitis. Required if for Hajj Pilgrimage

e) Dengue Vaccination (tetravalent)
- Malaysia's version is Qdenga
- Effective up to 4.5 years.
- Covers DEN1-4 serotypes
- Optional, up to you.

Take your pick.
Any Reputable Private Clinic/Hospitals will do

Regards.

Thanks, very informative

Am not a vaccine guy where I must regularly take vaccines but those in risky jobs have to consider what you gave above.

Can the family of the recipient sue the vaccine manufacturers if the recipient still end up dying from the very infection they are supposed to protect them from?

I'm just asking.
