yes, if after all the advises by doctor does not improve your blood pressure, than it is time to take up medications.

Normally doctor will advise you to eat healthy, reduce salt intake, regular exercise to lower down body weight, sleep early and have enough sleep or rest, eat more greens......

If you had done all the above and not helping on the reduction of blood pressure, than is time to think of taking medications...

Follow DASH diet. Be more active.

Use potassium salt as your main salt. Reduce sodium intake.

If few months no improvement, listen to doctor and take medication. Don't delay.

Taking medicine doesn't cure hypertension, it just temporary relief.
Seek for professional, they using cardio pump therapy to treat hypertension patients. Came out with efficacy treatment

First off, try and understand what causes high BP (hint: it's not salt)

2ndly, when you take a BP reading, it's a snapshot of your BP at that very moment. it's not a very good representation of your overall BP. Maybe you were looking at the hot nurse who helped take your BP and that raised the BP. What you should be concerned about is chronic high BP. If you're concerned, take multiple readings at different times of the day doing the same thing (i.e. sitting down).

There are many poorly informed doctors in malaysia, and most of them just want to sell you a treatment and get you out of their door. It's best you have as much information as possible before seeking a doctor out.
