Dear all forumer, I had setup opnsense router using PPPOE username/password and vlanid 500 but it failed to get WAN IP Address. What is the problem?

How to troubleshoot it?

Thanks.

Have you check the MAC Address ?

Your ISP might have lockdown the MAC Address of the old router, happens to me too.

As you didn't said whether its Unifi, Maxis or TIME, so I assumed that your are using Maxis/TIME which they usually lockdown with MAC Address.

Also, some screenshot or log will helps too... cool2.gif

have tried this before..even if you can get it to work the connection won't be stable. My connection drops at least once after 24 hours or randomly at times, then reconnects after. It's quite annoying if everyone else is using the network during peak hours. I think it's better to have the opnsense unit sit behind the ISP router.

I had this before. In my case its the Realtek drivers. Base realtek drivers kinda suck in Linux. I had to install manually update the Realtek drivers. Previously self compile. Now its a package in pfsense. Not sure about opnsense.Once update, no more stability issues.
