If plan to keep long time Axia is still the safe bet, Iriz campro engine and parts going to obsolute and replace by Geely new model.
Axia parts still can get Japanese Daihatsu/Toyota half-cut for similar engine/gearbox major parts.

Correct-I will keep it...but not that long. Car parts should be present 20 years after EOL.

The second reason why Proton, my house is 800m from SC. I can walk home after sending car if need to drop for a long time.

FYI, last time Wira even OEM parts 10 years after last model sell also no more support.

https://p*ultan.org/2018/04/05/proton-wira-...-ceases-report/

It has been 10 years since the last Wira was rolled out and 25 years since the first model was produced. The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) companies found it no longer economical to make Wira parts and they are concentrating on newer models

Dont think 20 years to EOL with such a low volume compare to even Wira, the most 10 years will stop.

to answer your question, I have a 10yr Exora which the parts still can be bought from Proton spare parts center in shah Alam and I've seen other exora owners still send their Exora back to proton SC. The Iriz and Persona is still in production although the exora has stopped producing. so the parts is sharable among models.
its engine is similar to the Iriz and Persona VVT minus the turbo. so parts are easily obtainable.

so please don't have that mindset that proton is for short term usage.
and btw I love both proton and axia btw,

Bro, if you read my link once the spare parts of the model will stop selling after 10 years. Exora only stop selling last year, so you still got around 9~10 years to go.

Use the power of Shopee. Wira speedometer, dashboard parts still can buy from shopee. That includes wira fog lamp, headlamp. Basically anything.

Most not original from Proton already, these are 2nd or 3rd grade suppliers. Still Proton Wira got 1 benefit is they can interchange Mitsubishi Lancer parts, even tho used/half-cut is getting more expensive you still can get parts from Japan. Compare to Proton Campro parts, you can only get from local, if they dont want to support anymore really will be big trouble for longer keep.

Exora is an exemption cause it’s one of the longest selling model, so expectedly it’ll have more spareparts around.

Where did you heard of such concept?

If cold selling or end of life models, 3rd parties won’t be interested to make parts for it.

Proton with punch cvt gearbox don't buy. Im a ex persona vvt owner.
Just go into iriz community facebook page, scroll up to down see how many owner kena.
The problem when reach certain high mileage, the car free gear at middle drive with cvt, brake and car slip logo came out.
Go sc scan get error P01765 :secondary pulley pressure too low, rm3~5k to overhaul repair the gearbox.

Punch CVT use clutch, not like Japanese CVT mostly using torque converter. Clutch type CVT after some time sure will need to replace/do adpatation, my mechanic previously own MG TF roadster before and using similar CVT with clutch, after some time replaced the whole clutch set. bangwall.gif After fix, faster sell off. laugh.gif A lot of people say just do clutch adaptation, but when you did not maintain well or drive too hard for long term doing the clutch adaptation wont help much already. That why some CVT type really is not good and create a lot of bad impression.

my family HRV previous gen, using CVT torque converter, the best snapped just right after warranty ended, 5 months after 5 years warranty finished. All follow the HM recommended CVT oil and interval change, it still snapped on the belts. If rajin look at HRV previous gen FB, too many kene with CVT issues, until HM gives 1 time claim only for the 5 years warranty for those who claimed a new GB from warranty, & it cost rm21k at SC invoices.

Honda CVT use normal steel belt, many youtube & tiktok videos already shown if too much vibration it will break off. Usually this is because of driving too harsh, always like to pedal to the metal/heavy foot. When the engine always on high rpm, it will create a lot of vibration and the vibration will not work good with the CVT metal belt. The only CVT gearbox which can witstand harsh vibration is Subaru & Audi as both of them using chain type belt which is more durable, thus why very less can hear Subaru CVT belt putus.

why don't you give Kia Picanto used car a go? especially JA 2018 version.

1.2 4AT, better FC than Iriz, better Handling than Axia(as good as Iriz), better looking than both of them (different person different preferences), RV is holding well since Picanto TA which is previous Gen and last but not least, bigger boot space than Iriz.

(7.0-inch Touchscreen Radio with CD, MP3, AUX, USB, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 6 speakers, 6 airbag) < much better spec too.

Actually did. The RV is quite high actually. The GT Line RV is very good.
